    • I was told the all black version will be coming to the U.S. a bit later but I’m seeing a bunch of them in the wild. I couldn’t pass up a $500 LUMIX S5 this week so I’ll have to wait on the X-M5 till after the holidays anyway. Hoping they don’t have the same shortages as the X100 series.
    • Smart choice and for the money, more practical for sure. Until the AF gets better it’s still a pretty specialized system. i would love a new GFX rangefinder 50R mark 2 or 100R that shoots decent video.  The 100S has gotten crazy cheap for what it can do but I need better video so I’ve always talked myself out of one. For my needs I need Video even on the third C camera that also acts as a high res stills hybrid.
    • It always does. I currently hope they do not make a successor to the FP because my dancing skills are shit. But until then, the GFX100S for me. I have almost pressed that button so many times, but in the end, came down in favour of the A7RV.
    • Z8, GFX100S and Sony a1. The Z8 because it just doesn’t give a fuck about restricting specs and for the mounting options. The GFX100S because it had a tiny bit of flaking so was ridiculously cheap *and* it’s party trick is to not only be able to adapt all of my F mount lenses with AF but also my Hasselblad HC lenses. That’s a new lease of life for those lenses, particularly the HC lenses as my H3Dii39 is beyond economic repair. The a1 because used ones have got a lot cheaper in the last ten days with the impending mark 2 versions and it hits a sweet spot of resolution, power and compactness. Also, I have seldom seen anything other than very, very nice video coming from it. The other thing that stopped me was the nagging feeling that a mark 2 Fp-L or higher res ZF are possibly coming over the horizon. At which point the dance will begin anew.
    • Z8, Z6iii, Zf? Perfect trio for me… Z8 stills workhorse with Zf more for candid and walkabout plus Z6iii as the primary video donkey, but all 3 could pull that role as required. I was wandering around old London Town yesterday late afternoon/early evening, heading for HMS Belfast as I had not been in years, but it changed into finding and having the missus’ phone fixed instead as it stopped working. But just during that period and yesterday in York, reminded and cemented for me, how great the Zf is to own (again) and use. Build, feel, clicks, shutter, EVF and rear LCD quality. So much nicer than any Fuji I owned. I think Nikon has moved for me back into pole position as my favourite camera brand. Just not for lenses. But then all of e Mount can be adapted so the options are the biggest with any current lens mount; Z, F, adapted M and E. And M can be adapted with the AF they do not have! But every day walkabout, Zf with a 40mm is that chefs kiss thing they talk about.
