UPDATE: firmware is legitimate, and Vitaliy Kiselev is going to use it as basis for next PTools update. So you can try out the firmware if you wish.

Original article follows:
EOSHD just receieved an email from an anonymous source with a new GH2 firmware to download. Version v1.0E ‘improves stability of 3D photo taking’.
And this serves as a timely reminder – Vitaliy Kiselev’s hack is just around the corner and Panasonic will most probably be attempting to change the encryption of the firmware on downloads and camera bodies at some point.
I won’t be offering the links to download the firmware here, and if you come across them please do not be tempted to update.
Latest update on the Vitaliy Kiselev hack
Vitaliy has tested internally his latest patches and PTools for the GH2. He says intitial explorations in changing camera behaviour have shown that  the encoder is very different and even a progressive patch for 60i results in a crash. He will open out the test program soon like last time, in an effort to trial-and-error different parameters and find out what effect they have.
The latest estimate from Vitaliy is for a release of the new PTools this month (July 2011). Although that may change, so for updates keep a close eye on here.
