This is a really good summary by the Brotographer (follow on Instagram here and YouTube here) of his experience of using EOSHD Pro Color V4 on the A7R III.
How close did he get it to match the Canon 1D X Mark II?
The differences as you can see are very minor between the two. Sony made some improvements to colour on the A7R III and A7 III but their default Picture Profiles are still pretty lifeless. Pro Color takes those under the hood improvements the extra mile.
The Brotographer made small creative tweaks in post – and with Pro Color you are free to do that, even though it’s for a straight out of camera fix. So you can still be creative and it certainly saves you a LOT of time spent grading a LOG format, creating our own LUTs (or finding the right ones to buy) – when actually we just want attractive colour straight out of the box like a Canon or Nikon.
A huge thanks to the Brotographer for finding me out and asking to try the latest Pro Color. Just a quick note – V4 HDR is of course for the new cameras – the A7R III and A7 III, but V3 supports a larger range of other Sony models from before… You can also see some more reviews and tests from YouTubers below of Pro Color V3

And yes there will be a Pro LOG for the A7 III and A7R III coming soon on EOSHD!
