Shot in Bali. All present and correct apart from 24p isn’t it? Do Sony think cinema is dead? Arghhh…
The good news however is that to my eye there is a complete lack of the same kind of moire and aliasing which plagues the Sony NEX 5, and other video DSLRs like the Canon 5D Mark II. So it does seem Sony are throwing in a decent image processing engine designed around a video core instead of a photo core, and some proper encoding (60i nonsense aside). That’s more like it!
Sony are moving swiftly. The ‘NEX Handycam’ store is now online where you can pre-order the entire kit.
The store also contains much more detailed specs and the following which further hints at the improved imaging engine.
The brains of the camera is a refined version of Sony’s BIONZ image processor… The BIONZ image processor provides Data Noise Reduction, Faster Image processing, and Data compression enabling high quality 24Mbps video recording.
