Luminous Landscape, who are predominantly a stills photography website have always struck me as knowing their stuff to a remarkable degree when it comes to video, with a hybrid photographer / videographer approach. So when Sony invited them out to Yellowstone Park to test the VG10, what they disclosed is incredibly detailed, and offers a new insight into what the first large sensor consumer camcorder is really like, even though…

The latest news on cameras, from EOSHD
Generation 2 is almost here and we will soon start a new video DSLR journey in September at Photokina. I hope you enjoy the ride. We can expect a LOT of big changes in the next hardware which will hugely improve video capabilities. EOSHD.com will be there to cover the news first hand. Here, since this week the jigsaw pieces have really begun to fall into place I’d like to…
[vimeo]14330130[/vimeo] Last weekend I met the man himself Philip Bloom with which it all began and whom was first to shoot really exciting footage with a DSLR and get the word out. Without his contribution to the DSLR video scene since, would EOSHD.com have existed or been the same? In London I found that the meet up was incredibly enjoyable – great to get to meet lots of like minded…
Canon’s next DSLRs feature some handy video orientated features. First the 60D – this is going to be my new favourite camera. [vimeo]13984616[/vimeo] I’ve recently been doing some web design work for a small British online cosmetic retailer called Unique Luxe In order to better market themselves and to boost sales through their own branded website, rather than just via the very price sensitive eBay and Amazon Market Place, I’ve recommended that they concentrate on putting content on the website and creating videos for sharing sites to drive traffic.
[vimeo]13123238[/vimeo] Here is a gem of a ‘mood piece’ from EOSHD.com forum member Adam Gichie graded in Magic Bullet looks and shot in England. This is some of the most nicely graded footage I have seen for some time and a big part of it is Adam’s custom in-camera picture profile for the 7D.
Thanks to you, EOSHD.com is growing rapidly and I have some ideas on where to take it in the future I’d like to share with you! But first, I am excited about going to Philip Bloom’s London meet this weekend (14th August). Do come along if you can and talk about DSLRs, and shoot some great footage.
Here is a nice summary of what we may expect from the Panasonic GH2. The newly skinned 43rumors.com has posted some supposed GH2 specs found on a Japanese website. The Photoshop mock ups are bunk but I believe the specs themselves sound credible and very satisfying.
