  2. So I shot my first footage on my first interchangable camera - the Pana 3. I'm happy with the first impression but also unhappy with some effects and have to find out what caused that. All my material was handheld for future shots I will also use a tripod. First GH3 tests shots | Winter Marocco - On some of the shots - asphalt or landscapes with lines I see a smur going on. Is this the aliasing and moire? Is this due to handhold or due to the settings? My settings All-I 24p, no color grading, contrast 0, sharpness 0, saturation 0, noise reduction 0 - What are the ideal settings for the GH3 and why? - And how do I bring back the contrast, sharpness, saturation and noise reduction in post? Do I add sharpness and contrast by editing exposure, lowering the middle and higher the highlights? And saturation by turning up the saturation in general, the higlights, midtones or shadows? What about the noise - do you wanna have that back? Thanxs so much for helping this newcomer! https://vimeo.com/57284392

  4. 3D was oppressive, attention seeking and now 3D is dead. Quietly dropped by all consumer electronics firm if the 2013 CES is anything to go by. Or is it?

  8. Check that. I called Kenmore and they still had some in stock. No sales tax outside of WA. Forget B&H for the moment. No reason to keep waiting. I grabbed one. Finally!

  9. that 8mm iscomorphot is not a commercial look lens. it is more art dreamy the design and the age and the back element are all limiting factors. it suffers from smearing.</p> yes it is the cheapest single focus option but sometimes with cheap comes pain. iscorama gives a you crystal sharp clarity. as crisp and as clear as a pair of starlets breasts lounging on a hot summer day on the cote d'azur. that kind of clarity in glass or flesh costs real money.   believe me when you have used and touched both you never want to stop using them ; )

  10. @Blanche View some tutorials on color grading with the on-board tools of FCP X (skip the ones that suggest you can do without the scopes or use automatic functions or match colors). I disagree with every single post that says you create one preset and paste it. Why? Because your already good images can be so much improved by thorough grading. Do it as the last step, after editing is finished. It should take a minute or two for every clip. NEVER 'share' your film directly 'for vimeo', because that means, that the inferior Quicktime H.264 encoder is used, and the film is simplified too much. The fade in at the beginning shows 'temporal banding'. You can avoid it completely, if you put a very subtle amount of grain on top of this clip, export as ProRes master and encode an x264 mp4 (for the vimeo upload) with the free x264 encoder from the high quality master.

  11.   I don't see the point or logic there.. if you want to adapt other lenses, the EOS adapter would be the best option.   On the EOS mount you can use Canon EF (of course), Nikon F, M42 and Leica R with adapters.   You can't use 'whatever format' because the register distance will have to be as long as Canon EF mount at least. Leica M, Canon FD etc is no option.
