  1.   By this logic all hacks/patches must render near identical detail...     ...and let's not forget, there's no details given regarding camera settings, lenses, the method used in editing, or anything at all to give a sense whether the uploader knew at all what they were doing.     Then there's the issue of even if this is the same chip as the GH2 it doesn't mean they used everything else.  It doesn't mean the baseline, stock compression is even as good as the under-achieving stock settings on the GH2 or whether it can be opened up yet.   Basically, judging this camera based on these clips isn't intelligent.  Period.  It might suck.  It might offer even more hackable potential than the GH2.  Nothing in these YT clips are a valid indicator of anything.

  2. One positive of this camera vs the GH2 that the video illustrates: big blue skies everywhere, no banding in sight.

  3.   I agree. It's crazy. Even when focus peaking is available I don't use it because I don't trust it.

  4.   This has to be the funniest comment since started doing research about camera and film. If you think you got it bad I would like to invite you to come to the FS700 forum at DVX. We are up in arm as to what Sony promise us from the beginning. With the upgrade to our camera to get 4K. It is going to cost more then the actual camera and have you seen the size of those thing hehe.

  5. The lens' stabilization was on and even though it appears to have done a great job, I'm still apprehensive of the rolling shutter. I'd like to see some test comparisons, but overall the picture looks awesome and filmic, which is the main issue I guess :D

  6. the iscorama's are known for it and you can rack its just has a really long turn on the focus ring and they came from the factory as tight as mine so its hard to do during a take. Like you cant crank the focus fast from one spot to another.   I have found that the helios is the best, I have a nikkon 501.4D but its multicoated. Im also looking at an early nikon 50 1.4 nikkor-s. If you can find one without the C like Nikkor-sc then its not multicoated. Im also looking at getting a set together. I have the russian MIR24N 35mm F2 which is a cheap sweet 35.   Right now the guys at Dog Schidt optiks are making my 2 helios conversion lenses I'll be sure to post some stuff when I get them.

  7. panasonic is taking the right approach. recycle previous generation sensor for a lower model, but add useful and valuable features. if canon were releasing the g6, it would be the g5 with wifi or something stupid.

  8. I've never seen a single YouTube 1080p stream that looked anywhere near the original camera file, so for me all the YouTube uploads are invalid. Vimeo streams too are only 7Mbit. Much better to wait until people with a clue get hold of the camera :)
