1. I had the pleasure of testing the new Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art (on a Canon 100D...). Focussed on photography, but the results are amazing. Even at f/1.8 it is really sharp, I'm sure it will even beat many primes. It's pretty crazy actually!            Here you can find 78 sample pictures for download in full resolution. In the first slideshow everything is at f/1.8! http://www.digifotopro.nl/content/exclusief-%E2%80%93-testfotos-sigma-18-35mm-f-18-dc-hsm-art       I did a very small video test, wanted to see if it's parfocal. I think it is!   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-agLVS4MP_c   This will be killer on Blackmagic EF-mount camera's (if it will work?), Canon aps-c with raw... MFT with speed booster, if a electronic EOS version ever arrives...   Pricing of the 18-35mm is TBA...

  2. I't s such a shame that there is no 1 cpu  1.6x crop Canon body with a compacth Flash slot. This Art Zoom Sigma and say 60D with a CF slot would make for amazing RAW video combination. Atm a speedbooster + blackmagic camera seems like the best option for the lens in video use.   Photo use wise a Nikon 7100 + this  18-35 Sigma is made of WIN.

  3. @Janek: check the link. You can download 78 samples at 1.8, plenty at 18mm. I think it's great. @Ernesto: working for a photography magazine helps ;) After 5 years working in the photography business I picked filming as a new hobby. That's why I'm here...

    Iscorama 54 filteroption

If you're after close up filters add '95mm Focar A' & '95mm Focar B' to your list of Ebay saved searches - these are vintage Voigtlander +1 & +2 diopters. I believe they were made to suit an early Voigt zoom lens and are quality plus.   I say this because I just picked up a mint 95mm Focar B for $50!

  6. It may not even be that complicated. Could be if you download it to a 1D-X it magically becomes a 1D-C.

    Wanted: iscorama 36

Beware of fraudsters isco hunters. Not sure if it was through my post here or on dvx, but i got a private email today from a guy selling one and once we got through to payment he had an excuse for every form of secure payment.   Cheers   -update- seems it was through my dvx forum post. Turns out he had a bunch of other bogus listings going. Been shutdown.

  11. Man, GH2s are such garbage now.  You guys should sell them immediately.  To me.  For $10.

  12. Personally, I don't really care about the top-end-gear-to-price arguments. I'm VERY low-end but my 4 year old DSLR camera shoots raw 14bit video! That's all I need to say :)

  13. Thanks for the input, I read about the pattern noise appearing at all isos is the shadows, but I couldn't see it on any of the videos I've been able to download. I'm quite impressed with the Nikon's IQ, but frankly the EVF and 1080/50-60p are really important things for me to consider (EVF more) and I've always loved the GH2 look which seems to be improved on this one, so... Also apparently the Nikon has some issues dealing with aperture in video mode... not sure what to think about it. What about the EVF on the G6? Earlier on this post I read it seems/feels smaller than the one on the GH2, is that the case? I used to have a Nex7 and absolutely loved the evf it's this one comparable? Thanks again, y'all being really helpful :)

  14. Can't see why they would have any interest in the cinema market. The camera side of the industry is in a race to the bottom
