I'll see if I can put something together worth representing lol

Found some time to edit my shots I made earlier this week. Experimented with a new workflow, I wanted something faster than ACR/Bridge, so I used RAWanizer to convert to CineformRAW 444 (about 10 minutes for 21GB of footage), graded the clips in Davincie Resolve Lite 9 and edited in Premiere CS6.   http://vimeo.com/67916713    

It's a tough situation, because no-one likes selling on eBay, the fees are mental and buyers treat you like a full-time shop, but outside of that things can get hairy.   There seem to be a ton of users who don't actually chat on here or help out, but just come in with their first post trading in the Anamorphic section or advertising their eBay listing, or variously hyping up prices for duff goods. I suppose that's part of supply and demand, but it's a bit sad. I have to admit since that eBay thread turned up I stopped bothering to look for stuff there, because I assume anything mentioned there will be bought by some hyped up loony with too much money or one of those shops who try and buy everything so they can jack up the prices to stupid buy nows.   I agree that wire transfers are nuts, there's no trace-ability like there is between bank accounts and the like, they are best avoided. There's a reason crooks love them.   Something about introducing the transfer of money and goods to a community based on mutual help and everyone trying to make the best films they can on a shoestring, adds something of a sour note, so I suppose there is a case for removing such transactions from a public forum. I don't envy being in the position of having to make such a decision though...   With regard to this thread as soon as I saw the bidding by post I thought "this is going to go horribly wrong", and it seems to have melted down rather spectacularly. So at least putting a stop to any future thread auctions could be a good plan.   Have fun everyone!

Just change the size at the raw video options? If you don't have experience with ML just read the manual for Unified 2.3, at least you'll understand how to access extra menu's and stuff - it's a piece of cake. The whole manual is even inside of the camera if you download ML 2.3.   Hints: press 'func', the set button and use the scroll wheel...

The pocket and 4K are the most unique so they get my vote. The other two are a bit "meh" now. TBH I'm considering cancelling too, I'm pretty high up the 4K queue, but there's no sample imagery, almost no-one who actually ordered even the first camera has it   I'm also not convinced I need that much future proofing.   After recently handling Epic footage 4K, the resolution was a headache. The raw was lovely, but the huge resolution makes everything sluggish. That makes the 5D a better option, oddly enough. Plus I love stills.

I'm definitely still interested in reading about BlackMagic. But I did loose interest in buying one myself. Cancelled my pre-order on the Pocket. Still, I read a lot about things that I will never buy, it's just something I'm really interested in. Probably most interested in the 4K model, not because of I will ever use it, but because it is the camera that is the most unknown to date and I'm curious what it has to offer to the world of video. Anyway, that deifnately shouldn't be a reason for you to buy one Andrew :)   Funny thing: when I joined EOSHD about a year ago, I thought it was funny that the name was EOSHD, while this really was (is) the place to go to for GH2 shooters - one of the reasons I joined here as well (and anamorphic shooting). After all, the name has made a come back it seems ;)   Sure don't hope it turns into a Canon only thing. The power of the blog is that you write about almost everything that _could_  be interesting to filmmakers. Whatever the brand or the price. That's what I like.

lesson learned....     not one person dealing with this issue seems to have contributed positively at all to this forum.  Just come here to take take take.  either selling or buying, they bring NOTHING to the forum.  Personally I think there should be a stop to all this posting of ebay listings, personal sales, etc.  at least topics of this nature should be only postable and visible by regulars.     Also, someone please close the ebay listings topic.  this has to be the most ridiculous idea ever.  Share your findings with the world, kill any chance of you or anyone else savvy to anamorphics getting a bargain because everyone and their grandma can come in and see a run down of anamorphics worth bidding on.  If it were a secret topic to regulars I'd understand, but literally, I'd say that topic alone is contributing 50% towards the current silly inflation of anything with a squeeze ratio!

I bought a 50D + Battery Grip + batteries yesterday for a good price and I shipped it today. I'm hoping we can split the costs... Purchased a 50D from craigslist for $400 (only 4400 shutter actuations), and just received a KomputerBay 32GB 1000X card for testing (two 64gb cards on the way).  The footage is fantastic!!!  The image is incredibly film-like, and being able to grade raw footage is a dream.  Skintones are very pleasant.  I've been a GH1/2 shooter since 2011 and currently own 4 GH2s, and the image quality from those little cameras has been phenomenal.  I will keep them around for my commercial/corporate work, but I'm very excited about the raw movement.  I love this 50D and can't wait for the Mark iii to arrive next week.
