  2. Modern video games bore me to tears, well 90% of them any way. Journey was good.

  3. I was working on my Sun+Helios combined rehousing idea. I tried the emachineshop software. It is hard to create complex shapes (I don't know how to do it yet). I thought I could design a body with only very few parts, but these few parts would have been too complex so now I am redesigning it to be like a Lego set :)   I am trying to figure out if it is possible to convert the dual-focus system to single focus. I know the lenses do not have linear focus measurement, but still... If that does not work on paper, then I will do a rehousing with dual focus system. but the two lenses will still be in one body, prealigned.   Once I will have some proper cleaned up drawings, I'll make a thread about it.

  4. For audio I like the idea of using a second camera (gopro for example) to record basic audio information. You could mount the gopro on your rig or onto the hotshoe to capture the same image. Then you just sync the two video streams in post, shouldn't be difficult. After that you can sync the audio stream of the gopro with your external HQ audio stream with pluraleyes for example.   I haven't tried this, don't remember who posted this idea, but it sounds fairly simple to me. And the extra GoPro footage can be a fun bonus I guess for behind the scenes kind of stuff :)

  5.   You'd be surprised how many great h264 dslr shots were keyed perfectly. Having more depth helps, but probably not as much as good lighting. Also, using something like 5DtoRGB to transcode to Prores444 helps a lot when keying DSLR footage.         I read somewhere it comes with a faster controller. If it's the latest could go up to 105Mb/s. And also we don't know what's going on inside it... what if Canon gave us a compressed raw stream instead of an uncompressed raw? Sounds extremely unlikely, but so did raw in the first place. CPU and other optimizations might also help make it happen. From the moment a 50D can shoot 1080p raw, I would certainly not rule out the 70D, especially this early on. :)

  6. To me, it's all about the anamorphic bokeh. Standard bokeh makes me think of a Dunkin Donuts commercial. Anamorphic bokeh makes me think of a painting.

  7. For Pocket Cinema Camera you need SanDisk SDXC Memory Card Extreme Pro Class 10 UHS-I with Max. Read Speed: 95MB/s.
