  3. I much preferred that natural flare version above to the vivid blue. It is pretty distracting in many situation to have royal blue lines across your image, but a natural, context sensitive flare can do wonders. Still, it'll work for hip-hop and blade runner style vids! But I think it may turn away a fair few people... a natural coloured flare can settle in any genre, even realistic narrative.

  4. 2010 MacPro 2.93GHz 12-core 24GB RAM GT120 and Quadro 5000, Mercury SSDs, 7200 RPM drives- 5TB (+ external SATA cage 5TB, SATA 4 port drive cartridge system (stick bare drives in it for archival copying and storage offline)). Running in Win7 most of the time- faster, more stable (also boot into OSX). Runs Resolve well, PPro, AE etc. (CS6 and CC).

  5. I'd double your GPU ram to 4GB. Have you looked at socket 2011 ivy bridge e? Consider one decent monitor that takes a 3D LUT than two poor ones and just pick up a cheap monitor for GUI. Then there's the whole SDI out not GPU, external LUT box etc.

  7. The squeeze varies yes, usually it gets lower at closer distances (for example 2x at infinity and ~1.66x at 1.5m for my Sun). You can use diopters for close up shots, you can have your gear focused at infinity, this way your squeeze factor remains 2x.

  8. iMac 27 inch Late 2009 model Processor: 2.8 GHz i7 Memory: 32 GB Ram 1333 DDR3 Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 4850 512 MB I cannot run Resolve on it but I have a newer Macbook Pro laptop that can...but I prefer to work in After Effects for now. It doesn't take me long to convert using RAWmagic and importing into After Effects to grade is not a problem either. I export in Proress in After Effects and edit in Premiere. Pretty simple really and not that big of a hassle. I will say that working in Resolve Lite is nice because you can bring in all the clips....apply a LUT and send them all to the render queue. If Resolve is important I'd make sure you have a compatible graphics card and a good amount of ram.

  9. makes me wonder why someone has not made a de-squeeze optic in a similar form factor for use with optical finders built into DSLR cams. would be great for stills or use as a directors finder to rough out a setup.

  10. A finnally got around to start actual CAD work, still pretty noob at it. I don't know how to make threads but the sizes are accurate. Sun front, Sun back, Helios block Slot for the Sun back lens that sits right on the front of the Helios block Ring that holds the Sun back lens in the slot (similar to the original design, except now it is on the front side of it) I still don't know if white lithium grease would be good as helical grease for this build. Also I am thinking of screwing a M42 to EF adapter to the back of the lens tube with 3 screws. Would this be a good idea or is it better to find a broken Canon EF lens and use its mount instead?

NICE GUY YOU ARE UNIQUE A SPECIAL AND RARE CUSTOMER. FOR MYSELF I HAVE HAD 48 UNIQUE CLAIMS SINCE XMAS. AND YET YOU SAY YOU ARE A VICTIM. I DO NOT RUN A BUSINESS IT IS A PAYPAL CLAIM JOKE OPERATION. ALL THE PEOPLE I SOLD STUFF AROUND THE WORLD TO. I PICK YOU TO RIP OFF LITTLE OLD YOU WHOEVER YOU ARE. I CHOOSE YOU TO RIP OFF AND RAPE. WHO ARE YOU THE PERP NEEDS TO NOSE. 2 LICKLE POSTS ON HERE JOINED JUST TO TRASH MAYBE. I CHOOSE YOU HOW UNLUCKY FOR YOU. DID YOU NOT PUT IN A CLAIM ON PAYPAL LIKE THE OTHER 40 ODD SCUM. OR NOT GOT AROUND TO IT YET. IF I GOT ABUSIVE MAYBE YOU DESERVED IT BUT MOST SCAMMERS GET THE GOODS AND MONIES BACK SO NO POINT IN CRYING A RIVER FELLA. A BIT OF ABUSIVE FOR FREE GOODS AND A CLAIM SOUNDS GOOD. IF I GET MAILS FROM FOLKS SAYIN NOT HERE YET NOT HERE I SAY WAIT LONGER. IF I DO NOT HERE BACK I ASSUME THEY GOT IT. IF YOUR FROM FINLAND OR RUSSIA,PORTUGAL OR SPAIN THOSE ARE THE PLACES THAT STEAL MY TIN OR PUT CLAIMS IN FOR RECEIVED ACHROMATIC DIOPTERS. TRY GATHERING YOUR REDSTAN RAPE VICTIMS TOGETHER AND IT WILL BE A VERY POOR LIMITED SHOW. FOR IT IS I WHO AM THE VICTIM HERE. I STILL DO HAVE CLAIMS OUTSTANDING SO UNLESS YOUR A SCOT OR A RUSSIAN THEY WILL NOT BE YOU. SINCE I HAVE KNOW IDEA WHO YOU ARE OR WHAT YOUR REAL PROBLEM IS I CANNOT BE NICE OR ABUSIVE TO YOUR SITUATION.

  12. OK new stuff. I need to design two sockets for the front and back glass block of the SUN. The original housing for the front glass does not enable proper alignment, it loosens the whole group which can rotate even from cleaning with a cloth. I need to create a tube that holds the glass in position with probably O-rings and a threaded ring that tightens, fixes the glass in place. Now this tube has to be aligned (only once). I am now at 10 parts for the design. It is way more than what I first wanted but they are much more simple. I really need to post some pics of what I am talking about... Edit.: Since I will place the SUN back glass really close to the helios I may be able to eliminate vignetting. Can anyone suggest a light helical grease? I will need to grease the parts but I don't want to make the focusing really heavy.
