  1. A short promo about studying in Rome. Shot in May 2013 on the Canon 5d mark 3 RAW when RAW had just been released.

Lenses primarily used: Canon 35mm IS and Canon 70-200 f2.8 mk2. I only had 2 Lexar 1000x, now I use these and 4x Komputerbay cards. Edited on Premiere, ran through Adobe Camera Raw in After Effects first to get better debayer and graded on Davinci Resolve. I hope you like it, let me know your thoughts! >

  2. The G6 achieves a certain yin-and-yang. With the GH3 now occupying a higher position in the line, the G6 has moved up to occupy the position once taken by our much loved GH2. It shares the same sensor which of course was always pretty special for video, yet adds a lot of significant new features like 1080/60p, a faster processor, high resolution LCD and something the GH3 doesn't even have - focus peaking. Pictures of the new GH 4K

Hey, it'd be good if it looks exactly like the GH3. Then my wife may not notice it if I get one ;)

  5. Yea, I need to let him know. He has a huge collection of lenses/cameras. Don't know about Hawks though... he was more into photography. But he loves unique things, like anamorphics, there's a good possibility of more. Just got back to LA... wish I was still back home or I'd go look through his basement! Anyways, the only downside to this Iscorama is that the 50mm f2.8 Taking lens seems to not open up wider than the f5.6 mark... possibly damaged. Also, what I'm assuming was Pentax threads on the mount have been filed off for a custom mount. So the original taking lens might be DOA. I'm looking at using my Rokinon 35mm 1.5 as my main taking lens, though. Seems to work fine optically. I made a makeshift cardboard-tube mount and tested it out... looks good. Tracking down a 77-49 step-down ring now and a clamp. Anyone else used this in practice? Yea, I think definitely will for now. Really could use the $4.5k though... damn. *edit Just did some more night time testing with the Iscorama on the 35mm Rokinon... looking real good! What cinematographers/directors have ever been able to shoot 2.66 at 1.4 with this amount of sharpness! Holy smokes! I'll upload some real footage once I get my real set-up built!

  6. Well depends on how you view things. Compared to 35mm full frame used for photography, the gh2 has a crop factor of 2x. But since we are in the world of filmmaking, the standard is super 35mm which is smaller than full frame 35mm, s35 has a crop factor of 1.5x, thus this is my "full frame" Hence I consider this my 1x, and full frame to be less than 1x.If you are trying to match a 5d then you do the 2x crop if you are trying to match, s35 or aps-c, then you do a 1.25x crop.

  7. As someone that just did a shoot in NZ barely a year ago on 60i HD and a 5 year old Canon camcorder, I'd just like to say I'm crazy jealous that someone got to run around the country using this gear. What I would have given to have shot my assignment on this cam. Man, I know a lot of y'all never seem satisfied with limitations, but just take a breather and realize that you're looking at a camera that shoots 4K for less than 2K. I don't know, seems impressive to me.

    BMPCC raw inferior to 5DMiii

@enny: This video compares the BMCC with 5D3 H.264 - not the Pocket with 5D3 RAW.

  10.   It's quite amusing looking at the different planets of filmmaking. Philip Bloom is saying raw is nice but "not for the 99.9% of us". How about the 1D C is that for the 99% of us running around with $15,000 to spare?
