  1. Dear fellows, i have been holding on from buying the gopro hero 3+ because there has been this rumour that a gopro4 with improved 4k in terms of fps and other tweeks would come out in summer 2014. where is it? you think they will release it in september? i mean this is the perfect summer sports/vacation camera, why delay it.. by the way just watched the bloom new drone+gorpo 3 film.... perfect combo, and look at the use of the low flying drone..much more dramatic than the high altitude shots that i personaly find boring.http://vimeo.com/99762227 and just found the perfect accesory for those of you that have kids! http://www.fotomarket.gr/gopro-junior-chesty-chest-harness.html im getting one for sure !!

  3. Panasonic GF3, since you already have micro four thirds. You should be able to find a body for under 100 gbp.

  5. Panasonic GF3 or Canon EOS-M (runs Magic Lantern, even RAW! and is a kick-butt camera IMHO).

  6. Hey Guys, I finally decided to part with my beloved Baby Hypergonar, which as of now is listed on ebay Germany. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Baby-Hypergonar-Benoist-Berthiot-Cinemascope-Anamorphic-adapter-/111411274822? It is perfect for run and gun anamorphic shooting. Pick up and a chat about the lens and the setup in Berlin would be welcome, too!.. A matching Tokina +0.4 achromat is listed in another auction. Best, Ivor

  7. Indeed. I just finished a production for a client who entertained the notion that his quad flying shots were appropriate for his film. It was incredibly difficult to diplomatically try to inform him how to fly his toy. Ultimately, he just liked to fly the damn thing high to the point where the landscape basically looked nondescript/static and then he would just pan and tilt the camera around randomly. Augh. Some people would rather hang a painting of Kincaid in the house than a Wyeth. I just had to accept it. Lots of folks just don't get it. Their subjectivity skews toward tacky. With flying shots it's typically low, slow, and in a straight line. It's really that simple.

  9. I am curious: 1. I am curious as to comparisons of screen grabs between the C100, GH4 and C500. 2. I would like to know the Exact Flatness of C100 vs C300 vs GH4, from in-cameras, and otherwise. 3. Most importantly, how much Flatter does the Cinema D profile, with everything dialled down (-5 Highlights, +5 Shadows + 15 Master Pedestal) make the profile?

  10. The cameras they're selling for $495 are the same ones the stores were selling for $995 last week, they didn't ship new cameras specifically for this deal, so that doesn't make much sense. It's likely they won't restock before the sale ends though, which will make the promotion limited to while stocks last, as they stated. No idea if the price will ever go up, but at this price it's worth getting and keeping!

  12. It's easy to work with but it definitely limits you. I haven't even tried it on other lenses because you have to change the adapter rings to match the lens size, and that process takes a few minutes. Makes you wish you could have an Anamorphot for each lens and just switch them out quickly. Then focusing is a bit tricky but that's the same on every anamorphic lens, and you'll always need diopters for closeup shots. So yeah, it would definitely be easier to just shoot with normal spherical lenses and use the black bars, but with anamorphic you get a different look. It's more than just the flares and bokeh, it's different framing. For me it adds scale to your backgrounds. Makes it feel like you're subject is surrounded by a huge world around them. It's more cinematic in many ways. But the 1.33x isn't that much of a change. I think the 1.5/2x anamorphics create a stronger effect.

  13. Hey guys, Wanted to share a new GH4 test I shot with the SLR Magic Anamorphot + Sigma 30mm. The grade was extremely minimal and the colors you see are mostly coming from my custom CineV settings. Hope you guys like it.
