  1. This is a trailer to my brand new movie from our expedition to Angel Fall in Venezuela. The story of the film is about making a children's dream to come true. When I was a child I loved books full of adventure and the most loved was an old komix describing a tour to mysterious tepui mountain. This dream become reality for me a few months ago... Shot on Panasonic G6 Lenses: Panasonic 25mm F 1,4 + Canon FD 50mm F 1,8 Mic: RODE videomic PRO ND filter: Hoya ND8 and ND4

  2. Posts in the subforums just don't seem to get anywhere near the number of eyeballs that topics in the main forum do. It's a shame, there's some great stuff in the screening room sub-forum. I think the issue is it's just too diffuse, with each video in its own thread (and sometimes, if people haven't embedded it properly, it's another click away), plus some things are in the GH4 or ML specific threads. I can see the point of gear-specific threads, but I don't just want to see stuff shot on the same cameras that I have, and I don't think its healthy to have a gear conformity attitude (remember Kendy Ty!) I think screening room would work really well as a long single thread. It would be a one-stop site where you could see what people on the forum are up to and get some inspiration (or, if you're watching one of my contributions, look at an urban cityscape you've seen in countless other videos cut to a hip soundtrack with some speed ramping and a LUT or two. Yeah I know my limits)

  3. I wouldn't call the NEX5N horrible for video. When I used it, I liked it's footage better than that of my T2i and T3i. At high ISO's the colours suffer, but for filming in daylight or proper lighted spaces, it's still a great camera for people on a budget. And for stills it kicks the G6's butt.

  4. So I finally decided: I'm gonna get the g6+14-42 on amazon, it's 550€ but there's a lens that I can use to understand what focal lenght I want on m43 and it's also stabilized, and I have 30 days to send the camera back if don't like it :) I decided to buy the g6 so in the future if I want something better for stills or low light I could get a cheap d3300(or d5300) and still be able to use it as a b camera for video with the nikon lenses that I'm gonna buy for the g6. I'm also gonna get the Fujian 35 1.7 right now because it's 20€ with the adpter ahah thanks to everyone!

    a6000 vs g6 vs used 600d

50mm f1.8 AI-S is the best tradeoff between speed and sharpness. I bought that one. The f1.4 and f1.2 50's are not too sharp wide open. There is a pancake version and a non-pancake. They're not much different apart from build quality and size of focus ring. They're both small anyway, so compliment the G6 nicely. And they're cheap. The 28mm f2.8 AI-S is the sharpest Nikkor you'll find, and is a very good "normal" focal length for the G6. f2.8 isn't super-fast, but if you can live with that it's probably the one to go for.

  7. I've been out in Dubai for commercial work, and in my spare time I used the 5dmkIII + raw to shoot a travelogue. Tried to capture some of the lesser-known parts of Dubai and the surrounding region. Enjoy!

  8. We shot this music video with my Lumix GX7 after comparing the image quality with other Canon cameras that we had available. Samyang lenses were used with a EF adapter.

  9. I've shot virtually all of your Level cameras except the F5 and C500. I still think Epic color science was much to be desired. Range is great but skin tones are not there. If it was pure IQ/grade ability I'd put the F65 on top. 16 bit color / 8 k down sample is hard to beat. Just rarely used it because it's ergonomics stink and initially its work flow was cumbersome. I also think the F55 deserves a higher slot. If you shoot in 4k raw it delivers an incredibly gradeable image with global shutter and 16 bit color. 16 bit epecially with 4k cameras is a big deal as Epic tends to spread its butter thin so speak. The time I've wasted trying to get skin to look just right. I had a GH3 and ditched it for a 5d3 because I found its DR too limited as well as its noise threshold. Sure it's sharper but the image, fleshtones, general color are no match for 5d3 IMO. Eitherway, it's a cool list and definitely puts things in perspective when you see DSLR's knocking at the door of Level 1.
