  1. Posts in the subforums just don't seem to get anywhere near the number of eyeballs that topics in the main forum do. It's a shame, there's some great stuff in the screening room sub-forum. I think the issue is it's just too diffuse, with each video in its own thread (and sometimes, if people haven't embedded it properly, it's another click away), plus some things are in the GH4 or ML specific threads. I can see the point of gear-specific threads, but I don't just want to see stuff shot on the same cameras that I have, and I don't think its healthy to have a gear conformity attitude (remember Kendy Ty!) I think screening room would work really well as a long single thread. It would be a one-stop site where you could see what people on the forum are up to and get some inspiration (or, if you're watching one of my contributions, look at an urban cityscape you've seen in countless other videos cut to a hip soundtrack with some speed ramping and a LUT or two. Yeah I know my limits)

  2. Can I suggest everyone who likes this film do the guy a favour and put a link to it on their twitter/fb/whatever. What this guy needs now is exposure ...

  3. Ed, I just want to say that I think this video has indeed got really lovely colours. I can still see instances of perhaps some overpowering magenta (for my taste), and occasionally neon-ish greens, but in general it's lovely to my eye. This is definitely the nicest A7S footage I've seen in colour terms. It's a shame my comment about me having a problem with the A7S' colours (in general) spilled into an argument on your thread. Sorry about that. More please!

You'd prefer to shoot video through an optical viewfinder?

  5. Horror can either be incredible or corny. That's incredible! The shots are so beautifully done. Many of the greatest people have had impairments. Work through yours, and keep creating films. Michael

Wow, in the UK Amazon sell the GX7 for £530 (about 650 euro)! My point was that you are comparing their prices as stills cameras, but the Panasonics are true hybrid cameras. Video is as prioritised as photo, so you can't just ignore that aspect of them when comparing prices. Canon and Nikon APSC cameras have video function as an add-on - an afterthought (and neither company seem to care much about it), but granted their stills are better. I wasn't calling you spoiled by the way. I meant we are ALL spoiled for choice. All of these cameras are pretty good. If the GX7 isn't worth the price to you, don't buy it. If you want excellent stills and video function, get an a6000. But that camera has some issues too. There are no perfect cameras. But they are all pretty amazing ...

  8. Seeing curated stuff from someone else's POV is appreciated by me. I think that would work in a sticky thread.
