  1. Already have it in Canon mount. Damned annoying.   Situation would be a lot more simple if Canon would just give us a body that was actually better than the last one for video. After 3 years you'd kind of expect them to do that.

    FM lens discount

Yeah.. I prefer vario ND's for ease of use though and I only got them in 77mm. Might work with step down filters depending on how wide the taking lens is.

  5. It seems that this really is the best stills/video hybrid on the market right now. Just found a great review from England No.1 Wedding Photographer Ross Harvey: http://www.rossharvey.com/reviews/nikon-d750-review He says that he will use D3s as a backup body for stills from now on. EDIT: Btw Andrew, it would be nice to see some anamorphic footage from D750 if possible.

Best 1080p camera for under 1000$

The answer is in the question. If dynamic range and colour space is your priority and you are shooting fiction, there is only one camera at the 1000 dollar mark that stands out. The bmpcc. If you want a larger than s16mm sensor then you have to compromise on the other stuff. The descision comes down to wide lens choices really. You can get lovely colours and very good dynamic range from the d5300. Of the 8bit cameras around 1000 dollars that's the one I'd choose to shoot fiction with. I haven't seen any conclusive evidence the gx7 is superior in low light - not that that matters too much for fiction -

  7. BTW I would not base your camera decision on whether or not it has a mic input. If you want good sound, you always want the mic to be as close to the actors or subjects as possible, and you cant do that if the mic is attached to your camera. A mic on camera is only good for if you're say at a comic convention and getting interviews of randomers.

  8. I think I will keep looking for the lipless version or an Isco, I like to go for sure. Also first I want to see some follow focus in action. So I will leave the early adopting to you guys :)

    Sony a7s purple noise

mine also does this. However it only really shows when i rag the hell out of the camera. just because the camera goes up to 400,000iso doesnt mean it's useful at that speed. anything below 16000 is as clean as a whistle I am finding.

    Is this kowa

For using with 85mm, Kowa 16h is perfect, but ISCO integrated lens merely works.
