  1. The math is simple :) 4:3 x2 = 8:3 (2.66:1) 1:1 x2 = (2:1) 3:2 x2 = 6:2 = (3:1). For 2.35 with a 2x anamorphic you would need something close to a 6:5 aspect ratio (12:5 = 2.4:1). If you want 2.35:1, using 4:3 and cropping a bit from the 2.66:1 image is most effective. For 1.5x lenses just replace x2 by x1.5 - 3:2 would probably best, resulting in 4.5:2 = 2.25:1, needs a small crop for 2.35:1

  3. How so? 1.) The retail price on these things is well above what BM is charging for their current cameras. 2.) Then there is that whole development process thing. I'd be surprised if we see a retail unit on the market in 2015. 3.) For the Super 35, DR is listed as 10 (15 in HDR mode, which i assume means a loss of resolution). Let's see how that works in practice. Don't get me wrong. I hope the Axiom is awesome. But let's not get ahead of ourselves.

  5. Thanks Julian! I've re-rendered the test and it's the correct aspect ratio. Now I have to test 3:2 with my Iscorama.

  7. There's not much less impressive than bragging about what editing system is used to cut a motion picture. It's editing, for goodness sake. Where you splice the cuts matter, not the razor that does it.
