  1. One way to get better Youtube IQ is to render 1440 or even 2160 version of your video. When browser downscales it to monitor size (normally fullhd) it looks much cleaner.

  4. Own A7s. Had a 5D3. Never used ML on jobs for variety of reasons. Sometimes I wonder about my decision to get rid of 5d3. For stills it's far superior. For video, I find the colors of 5d3 in a different league than A7s. While A7s is better for me in almost every other category (DR and resolution), it wouldn't surprise me if you showed a side by side clip to a regular audience member or client, they may very well prefer the 5d3. Most humans don't care about resolution. They do sense when colors are off. I did a similar blind test between F55, Dragon and Alexa projected in front of producers and the director for a feature I shot last Summer. Alexa won unanimously, Dragon 2nd and F55 last. Despite the Alexa being 2k, the others 6k and 4k, the skin tones won the day.

  5. Yup. Youtube re-encodes your uploads. Their h.264 settings will bin motion, grain and tonality. Vimeo is really your only alternative if you care about quality.

  6. Why do you think this is embarrassing? Given that the actors are too young to be convincing, it's still a good job that shows a lot of talent, imo.

  7. ISO works for me too during movie recording, I have ISO assigned to the large rear scroll wheel for quick adjustments. The exposure changes smoothly. I don't tend to change ISO during a shot, only before, but make no mistake, the NX1 has full manual control of everything in movie mode.

  8. Personally i'm disappointed with the quality of testing. You don't charge $3000+ for a product and then shoot pillars and DVD cases. I don't think it's too much to ask to get some real-world tests up. With people. Just not the right way to show off the quality of your product. And all of these new items have no tests at all. You post up "product demos" that are just CG fly-bys of what the products will look like. You may be a great engineer, but you definitely need some help with the marketing aspect. Trying to be genuinely helpful too, please don't take it as an attack.

  9. Not interested in zooms mate. in any case I can stick one on the iscorama or this FM unit as long as the zoom is parfocal. the 2x selling point is null and void if the image quality is hopeless as i am seeing here. even your flickr pics lack that sharpness pow that lets you know you;ve hit focus. they're sharper than your recticlips but why are we not seeing the same sharpness in the videos? the nex5n is actually pretty good for sharpness in video. The FM module discussion about group discount (you know, the thread you locked in anger) at 550eur seems to do a pretty good job - hence why i went and found a cinelux 2x ready for when i can afford to grab the FM Module! - This is a 2x setup which far outperforms what i am seeing here. Please don't take this as a personal attack, but one of critique of your product which seems to be pushed to the top of the forum as a hard sell on a daily basis without really providing anything of worth and distracting from the community spirit IMO.
