  2. Permissions are usually expensive and a headache. Try gorilla shooting but remember: 1. Keep cast and crew small and inconspicuous. 2. Don't take hours to finish any scene. Elaborate scenes should be shot inside/ indoors. 3. Rehearse. 4. Don't carry equipment outside that draws too much attention. Just a single camera with hidden lapel kics with wireless kindda recorders. 5. There should always be a production guy who can handle the cops. Also everyone should scoot while he does that. 6. Tiny handheld stabilizer like the Nebula 4000 or extreme wide lenses and a steady hand. B

  6. For anyone interested, it seems to be available for AU$8700 brand new (something like 4700 pounds), and I've seen it sold used for as low as $6000 (about 3200 pounds). Not many on ebay over the last year. Two went for around $7000. One sat at $8000 and didn't sell.

  7. yes a lot of times you can reach out to companies and express your thoughts on how to improve their product. You are doing them a huge favor by being out in the field testing them. Samsung is showing a great precedent for being so receptive to user feedback. Panasonic is also very good at this. But this is pretty much unheard of - how quickly they responded to user feedback. I think the OS the camera works on allows this. It's very exciting news and puts the NX1 definitely in a hotter category. I am very excited to test it with the new log like setting.

  8. Ah yes.. The kini booster ultra. The lovely Rob Bannister sent over a squeaky clean speed booster ultra and the sub-pl to adaptor that kinifinity provide for the camera. from there I could equate what distances need to be adhered to in order for optimal results. it was just a case of machining a sub pl mount to bolt to the back of the speed booster. Unfortunately the time involved in the job was quite a lot and since Rob has been a friend and regular customer of dso I did it mates rates as a bit of a challenge. what with the nx1 being very popular, metabones are almost certainly working on a solution as we speak. For me to undertake another one, the price gets high due to the initial cost of the speed booster as well as labour. some have asked for me to do the mod to cheaper speed booster copies, however due to the way they;re made, it makes it actually less simple to modify. If Rob or Andrew wanted to rally a group of 10 people who might want to go for a kini booster, it would take prices down drastically and i could just cnc a user fitted sub pl coupling which will fit straight onto the e-mount to ef mount speed booster.

  9. As a full frame owner - 5d3 - I'm way happier with anamorphics than I was with standard spherical. I also took time (and money) to get Iscoramas, and 50mm taking lens plus 1.5x stretch is wide enough for almost everything I ever needed, covering the whole sensor and getting 2.66:1 aspect ratio. MagicLantern also allows us to shoot 4:3 raw, using the sensor's full height and get the best out of 2x anamorphics, My goal is not to have the best lenses available, but achieve the best balance between cost and picture quality. Some day, if I win the lottery, I'll go after LOMO roundfronts. hahaha
