    Go Cuba - A7s video

Hey guys, I just posted my new vid called GO Cuba. It was shot with an A7s in Cine4, Pro colour mode. Hope you like it.   PS. How do you embed videos again? EOSHD replies: Just paste the URL in. If it doesn't work first time, edit the post, remove the hyperlink from the Vimeo URL and paste the URL back in again, then press enter to go onto a new line and the video should show up.

  3. Actually the movie mode on both models sits on the powerswitch by the looks of it. 760D looks quite sensible. The top LCD is a nice entry-level add-on. But if it's just a downsized 70D and not much more, with similar specs... not sure why one should bother. I do hope it has a new sensor, processing and consumer 4K. That's the only way I can see how they can reboot their 550D's success without having to be afraid of hurting their high-end lines. Because beside being APS-C crop, for photography I'm not expecting killer performance, it's probably not that built-to-withstand and for video it will probably have some shortcomings. I wouldn't really care that much for stills performance (fps, ISO12800 performance), etc and never killed a camera, not going out in the rain that much, so consumer level finish is fine enough for me as long as the image and especially video looks great. Perhaps with the Magic Lantern touch... who knows. And maybe one is directed at photographers and the other at hybrid shooting, having their own strengths. I'm not leaning towards any particular brand... so they should feel free to convince me! Although I'm pretty true to small form factor and the M43 system, so they'll need to really bring it. Knowing Canon... it's probably nothing groundbreaking though. But I'll keep an open mind about it.

  4. Value for money wise and besides the small size of this camera why will someone spend $7999 on this camera instead of the $7999 on a Sony Fs7 if video is primarily what you shoot?

  5. http://www.43rumors.com/hot-full-e-m5ii-leak-with-plenty-of-images/ According to this new leak the em5-ii IS NTSC-PAL Switchable. and has audio-input. specs at the end of the linked page (open last image in chinese-english).

  6. Wow Ebrahim, that sounds pretty radical! Isnt it a good idea to wait and see whats coming in the next days/weeks?? For me no matter how good the image is and how low the price is lack of flipscreen/touchscreen, peaking, live histogram and IBIS would make me think twice, not that I need all of them but for the high price I think the 1DC still leaves quite a lot of boxes unticked.

    Lenses

One of these! http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/36925-USA/Nikon_1420_Wide_Angle_28mm_f_2_8.html ( http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/28f28ais.htm ). "this lens has EIGHT elements in EIGHT groups. This allows it a level of correction seen in no other Nikon wide angle [..] This is the sharpest manual-focus wide angle made by Nikon [..] If you want great sharpness and perfectly straight straight lines, go get one of these lenses new or second hand. You'll love it."

  8. For the first time in a long time organic sensor's rumors surfaced again. Panasonic will manufacture and Fuji will provide the patents and technology - Panasonic might put the micro color splitter as well, right? It seems that a Micro4/3 version might come late 2015 or early 2016. The major issues engineers were dealing with were overheating and power consumption, did they solved it or maybe they had to make some concessions like to make a bigger batttery, a bigger body, etc. From some things I read, just like BSI sensors, organic sensors might be more efficient with higher pixel count but that would get in the way of video, so maybe they will try to keep a lower MP count, IDK. Anyway, with the E-M5 MKII around the corner and finally with better video, 24p, etc. and Sony already selling 5-axis/3-axis IBIS on FF bodies I can only speculate that one of these days there will be a E-M1 MKII with further video improvements and an A7s with IBIS and possibly internal 4K or maybe an "A9" with such feats - since the A7 formfactor is not very good for heat dissipation, faster shutter, etc. since it's too small. What will Panasonic do? Will the GH5 have IBIS as well? Will it have this organic sensor? The early 2016 could be a plausible date for a GH5. I'm not so sure about the organic sensor as at times, these tech are tested in smaller sensors even more if this higher pixel density is true but I do hope Panasonic can deliver something like the 5-Axis IBIS to form a perfect couple with Metabones Speedbooster. Sure, if Panasonic could really deliver the organic sensor and its high-sensitivity, it would be a great deal and game changer. Despite some nice features, the A7s is not optimal for video and the GH4 is a much more like a complete package, the main knock on the GH4 is its low-light capability and with the organic sensor that issue could be a non-issue. The GH4 is known for great battery endurance but if the power consumption issue is true, I wonder how they are going to deal with that, as well as the overheating issue, I'm sure that Panasonic wouldn't want a GH5 to have poor battery performance and recording limitation due to overheating. Nonetheless, people might accept that if the sensitivity is greatly improved. Sony proved they could deliver a big FF sensor with IBIS, so can Panasonic deal with the overheating issue of organic sensor AND put an IBIS on it as well? 2016 will be interesting...

  9. If the sensor was 63.7MP and light had to be delivered to that, yes. But this is a whole different thing though. It's like HDR with pixels. But you're not taking multiple exposures, you shift the sensor to take multiple readouts making it more accurate. It's like a survey where you either ask 10 or 1000 people. You get a clearer picture of what is going on when you ask more. Pretty sure their idea of implementing this is solid.

  10. Regardless of whether is matches the quality of A6000 or D5300, it will no doubt cost at least $300-400 more than those cameras.
