From the DP. Alot of great information. https://vimeo.com/1273811794 points -
Thanks, will check the making of asap, should be interesting. Saw the film yesterday. Id give it a solid 8, but i did go in with sky high expectations after witnessing all these ten out of ten reviews. The film is certainly much better than Age of Ultron or Furious 7 and probably will be the best action blockbuster of 2015. Feel it's slightly overrated but not as much as the first Avengers or Guardians of the Galaxy. Id rate it equal to Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. I was floored at the beginning of the movie and especially at the first carchase setpiece but the latter half of the movie failed to sustain or outdo the assault on the senses i got in the first hour. The second half was really good but it definitely peaked early for me. The last setpiece was more of the same and the sense of danger was somewhat lost sadly. The baddies could have easily won in the end if they had put some thought to their actions. But i guess logic doesn't apply anyway to film such as this. One nitpick - the high shutter speed in action scenes was way overdone and made the movements too jerky and less realistic. Overall the design and the world itself was simply amazing and quite mad indeed, if a bit comic book alike compared to earlier films. Tom Hardy was good but he doesn't quite have that fierce look in the eyes like Mel Gibson. Gibson could have still pulled it off imo. Theron was awesome if underdeveloped as a character, but we all now the drama isn't the main attraction in a film like this, so it's all good. Soundtack was nothing special, fitted nicely on action but not as much during the quiter scenes, overly pathetic. Big respect for Miller to pulling it off, Fury Road is a stunning action movie with incredible visuals and style but not quite a flawless masterpiece. Look forward to seeing it again. Id like to add that i secretly hoped for a cameo of Bruce Spence. I don't know if it's just me, but the film seemed to aim for PG13 like Prometheus.3 points

I would say one of the smartest things you did, was to make lemonade. By making new trailers/teasers as you progressed was a spot on move.2 points

I loved it too. It was hilarious, I couldn't stop spitting my sides over the big truck with the drummers on the back and the guitarist on the front. It was like a 2 hour music video really. A very simple plot but absolute carnage all the way through.1 point -

LOVED IT! One of the most intricate, stylish action film I've ever seen. Mel Gibson is still a better Max but he was basically a secondary character in Fury Road.1 point -
Birds in Slow Motion - Samsung NX1

Released another video all shot in slow motion at the same location as the previous video, actually I shot this at the same time, just didn't cut it together until now. Some tech info is available in the vid description, although it's all essentially the same as that bird tracking vid I did (I shot this material on the same day). Kept the video to under 2:30, as birds aren't that interesting lol1 point -

It don't really matter how you got there, by making comercials, music videos or even any kind of shitty movies. You can "cut to the chase" and do right now what matters to you. So, congrats!! And thanks for sharing your experince. this all the forum is about!! Let us know when your film will be available online. René1 point -

Can't wait to see it this weekend. Did anyone watch the full video with the DP? He takes some jabs at RED toward the end. Someone asked why he didn't use RED and he said "I've heard bad things about overheating" and that it's made by "a sunglasses company". Hahah. He's an old school film guy, and this was his first job using digital cameras. Said he loved the Alexa and is not going back to film.1 point -
Upgrading to the NX1 from Canon, ideas?

I did a test once with the ef 10-18 and a dumb adapter on a bmpcc. Since its focus by wire I expected no control at all. But the funny thing was it apparently focus when zooming. So it could be used with an ND for exposure. I absolutely do not recommend it,but it was a fun experiment. https://youtu.be/T6wPNkkfq8E1 point -
Guys guys. Why are you arguing with what is clearly an immature geek who just wants to wank to paper specs all day?1 point

Awesome link, @AaronChicago. Saw it last night in 3d, and it was a visceral, visual feast. everything I was hoping for, and I left the theater super pleased with the film. It was just a really good time. I have certainly have some critiques but, overall, I really enjoyed it.1 point -
Hi Guys... So I received the LS300 yesterday with a fe Olympus lenses (12-50 F3.5-6.3, 45 F1.8, 17 F.18). I haven't yet the time to really play with the camera but my first impressions are : - Cheap quality built. Cheap plastics especially on the side handle part. It feel that the whole stuff is empty inside. Rotating the ND Filters make a cheap clunky noise. Mounted a lens on it is not smooth as like on my GH4 for example. - Compact, I like that. - I am not sold by the viewfinder. - The LCD is "OK" will try in direct sunlight but it does not impress - Focus peaking is really great, much better than the GH4 and with it you really feel that you are in control. - It may sound stupid but I love the point and touch AF of the GH4, pity that the LS300 does not offer that as well. The few minutes that I spend with it did not bring the WOW factor that I was expecting and at the price they are asking it in Japan (~4,165 USD) I would personally opt for a 4K URSA Mini than that. Anyway start playing with it and soon start to experiment with your requests.1 point

Sandro: nx1 is a great camera. Last week a friend with a 7d almost started crying, after seeing how my nx1 performs. Btw, I'm Italian as well. Feel free to pm me if you want.1 point -
Thats really why I like it. Sometimes I find the less plot or story the better. (loved Sucker Punch for the same reason) I don't think Mad Max 2 had much of a story either. Loved it as well. Don't think the new one ruins the old ones at all.1 point
