  1. Hallelujah! That would've been insane. These politicians must be so damn bored that apparently they really don't have anything better to do than to come up with shit like this. I guess as long as they find ways to keep themselves preoccupied they're gonna keep their jobs and with that those ridiculous salaries and benefits.

  2. Not very realistic to expect a major firmware update every month. At least they are solving some bugs quickly.

  4. Yeah I see nothing but great potential in that thing.

  5. It's also laughable when people base the performance of a camera on someone else's work. Try them, and then judge! From what I have seen though, I think the XC10 is capable of producing lovely footage for the price.

  6. Yes, it does appear to be the same lens referred to in the thread you mentioned. Keep in mind; the one used and mentioned by QuickHitRecord was modified to have a shorter focus throw instead of having to turn the barrel 5 complete revolutions to travel from infinity to close focus. Seems interesting and a rather convenient modification especially given the close focusing capability of this lens without the use of diopters. Pricing seems to be all over the place as usual and I am sure a good deal could be found at some point. The ones I have seen under/around $100 tend to have little issues with the optics such a scratches or light fungus. So I think above that is realistic currently. Actually, there are a few online now ranging from $165-$499(overpriced for the latter IMO). As mentioned in the thread link above, some ask unrealistic prices and my feeling is that they are not really that rare at all.

  7. Try these http://cvp.com/index.php?t=product/datavision_dvs-ledgo-600lk2 Color science expert Alan Roberts tested various lights with some advanced measurements because he feels that CRI(Color Rendering Index) has many flaws and is unreliable and outdated way of measuring quality of light. Here are the links to the article and test results page: http://www.gtc.org.uk/tlci-results.aspx http://www.gtc.org.uk/tlci-results/tlci-results-new-format.aspx In his tests, these relatively cheap Ledgo lights have better results then some much more expensive, so it seems like a good investment.

  8. Exactly. Atleast they're listening. Take Olympus. We've voiced our concern about 30p only with the E-M1 from day one. To this date, they haven't done anything for video except pehaps ironically including the following: 'You wanted better video? We're giving you worse!', like... Olympus, why don't you just straight up spit in my face already.

  9. They're not really fixing important stuff or adding new features!

  10. Yeah, I'd like it somewhere in between what Inazuma and cantsin came up with. Inazuma had a nice base. But it looked a bit dimmed and greenish. catsin took out the green and added some contrast. In the process making it a little too blueish/purpleish and boosting the highlights a little too much for my taste. Yes, that might pop a little more, but for me it takes out a bit of the flatish filmlook and I would prefer a little warmer tone in that scene. The other ones had a too strong blueish cast. With the last two going straight for the typical Hollywood teal/orange look. Fun to see all these different takes on it.

  11. I'm sorry but all the negativity against this camera is starting to become laughable.

  12. Indeed! I really love my RX10. It goes anywhere, does anything, and the addition of XAVC-S fixed its only major flaw. If anyone wants to see any tests from the camera, let me know. I have yet to seriously put it through its paces. Weddings are slow this year. :/

  13. I rented the XC10 to use to supplement 5D Raw and the Blackmagic Pocket cam on a wedding shoot this past weekend to see how it would preform. It was used mainly on the DJI Ronin M and handheld in some instances. I have a ton of footage from it. Some in 4k and some in HD. - First lol...the lens does NOT slide out if pointed straight down - Clog is my favorite shooting profile. I would not bother with the others. It grades pretty well. I had a semi newbie manning the XC10 while i shot on the 5D just incase there was a issue with magic lantern. The auto focus worked well however the guy filming with it did "not always properly expose". So there was some blown highlights and I was pissed. Clog surprisingly allowed me to pull some of it back to an acceptable level in post . When properly exposed the camera can capture some really nice images. - Low light was not 5D level but it wasn't terrible either. - HD is really nice and sharp. - Audio was recorded with a Rode Stereo Videomic X - Lightly graded in Adobe Premiere CC - Some audio is muted for privacy - 4K compressed down to 1080 starts @ 5:00 - 6:30 Here some of the footage from it.

  14. Yes. I signed that change.org petition. I don't feel like we need more limitations on what we're allowed to do in public space without applying for permit for everything...

  15. Church of magic needs to enable the 4k mode and soon cause when Sony gets their sh*t together and provide a useful IBIS for video it will be too late.
