  1. Firmware 1.1 just announced, releases April 24th. Includes: -10-bit 4:2:2 in 1080p -4:3 anamorphic mode (3398x2496), also in 10-bit 4:2:2 -exposure adjustment problem in VFR mode (I'm guessing this is the darker screen when using shutter angle) -V-Log high-ISO ghosting problems (doesn't this happen in normal profiles too? Hope this addresses that too)

  2. I'm reading a lot about this being a pro sports camera so just my thoughts as a working pro sports photographer... In terms of speed, this thing obviously ticks a lot of boxes. But its not just speed we need in terms of fps, af and evf refresh etc but its speed of the glass and the throughput of images. Like any other manufacturer trying to usurp Nikon and Canon, the response to this in my particular field (no pun intended) - and it may will be different for non-sports dedicated photojournalist - is "Yep, thats very nice but where is your 400mm f2.8 ?" and "How fast can I review, select and get an image out of it?" For the lens issue, honestly if they turn up trying to turn anyone's head with that 100-400 they launched today and offering it as the answer they'll literally get laughed at. I've shot with an f5.6 lens of course but its the very specialised constant aperture 300-800mm "Sigmonster" that only sees the light of day (quite literally) for very particular circumstances like Cricket or motor racing when there are range issues. For low light football, even in Category A stadiums holding major finals, its a major risk unless you are absolutely sure that you can guarantee the light. For slow shutter speed stuff like profile shots its fair enough but not when you need to push the shutter speed for action shots. Even with bodies that do a gazillion ISO the end result can look rough. But its not just the light gathering thats the issue, its the subject isolation that a 2.8 gives you that you just can't replicate with a 5.6 So I'm baffled why they haven't brought out a 400mm 2.8 at the same time. The image throughput is another issue and it remains to be seen how intuitive their image review process is but already one alarm bell is that I can't see an image lock button on the back of it. I've droned on at length about this on another thread but its a massively important function for ingesting only the relevant images out of a few hundred when you're in a hurry. And we're always in a hurry! If they haven't made that mappable to a function button then, like Fuji, its such a fundamental feature that you wonder who they've actually been doing any research with. With regard to the ethernet port. Well, yes, its a decent feature to have but if we've got an ethernet port at our pitch position (a bit of a luxury actually) then we have it connected to our laptops for two reasons. 1 - Its the laptop that is needed as a central comms point (it may be taking images from several cameras, its FTPing edited images, its receiving emails from agencies etc) and 2- We can't be tethered to the camera when shooting as its as dangerous as it is restrictive when you're working in these environments. I've attached a picture of my shooting position from a Champions League final (yes, the gap between the two larger gentlemen). When you are in such a restricted space and juggling two long lens cameras, while simultaneously editing images on a laptop that is literally perched on your lap, the last thing you can be is physically attached to it. The cameras get totally abused in these circumstance with being dropped (intentionally sometimes) so cables are a no no. And, of course, we're never shooting with just one camera so there's no way we're going to be adding a router into this equation, hence we need a wireless module. Even if they are the ludicrously expensive ones like Nikon and Canon do. The bottom line I suppose is if we can't capture what we can capture now and work the way we all work now then there is no compulsion to change, especially when there isn't a massively compelling price differential and the lenses that they do make that would be worthwhile (the 300 f2.8 and the 500 f4) are a lot more expensive than the equivalent offerings from Nikon and Canon. And thats before we get on to the fact that those lenses from the other two are battle hardened, proven pieces. Has anyone ever even seen one of those Sony long primes outside of a trade show? In their defence - and seemingly unlike Fuji - they seem to be taking a serious approach with regard to service levels that pros would need and I'm sure we'll see their presence at events with mobile workshops and equipment loans like Nikon and Canon do. This is a good sign but, again, they face an uphill battle here because even at regular events where there is no official support, you'll always be able to borrow something in an emergency off another photographer. So, if I need to use an ultra wide for an exterior stadium shot, for example, I can probably walk about 20 feet in the photographers room and cadge one for 20 minutes off another Nikon shooter. Not quite as easy when you're the only Sony shooter in the room! So, if they're to do this (at least in my field and it could be very different for non sport shooting photojournalists etc) its going to take a lot of persuasion to get people to change. Just producing the body is the tip of the iceberg. I often compare this to what happened to RED when they thought producing the original RED ONE would let them take over Hollywood. Its everything else around the capture device that needs working on too and thats why they're many generations down the line and still on the coattails of the established dominant player. There is definitely a market for a mirrorless camera to take over in my field but I still believe it will have a Nikon and/or a Canon badge on it. The market for the goods we supply as sports photographers is shrinking financially and people tend to get even more conservative and will only switch when there is a major financial incentive. I just don't think Sony tick that financial box and its where Fuji might have an advantage. The resistance to change is what they need to get over and for every sports photographer like me that wants to make a change there are probably at least a hundred that don't. This isn't a number I'm plucking out of thin air either. Next week, will be the first Premier League game that I've shot on a mirrorless system (the X-T2) and I would hazard a guess that its the first Premier League game that anyone has shot with it. Am I nervous about it if it will perform ? No, not really as I've run enough tests to know IQ wise its up to but I do have reservations about how much it will get in my way in terms of getting those images out. What I'm more nervous about is having to field all the "What the fuck is that?" reactions from the other snappers and the sneering about using a 'toy' camera. Overcoming peer pressure is going to be a bigger task for Sony than overcoming EFV blanking to be honest. I bet you its a fine camera though.

  3. @Ken Ross (Photo)journalists don't care about the unrealistic phantasy or parallel universe of "enthusiasts". Dreaming around doesn't make profit. Only sharp photos/1080p footage with decent compositon and unique selling points - ready to send and immediately published - are profitable. It's all about capture the moment - and publish it, as fast as you can. Neither place nor time for dreaming or tweaking around... Just try to find some reliable (not lunatic) infos about bitrates and quality requirements for US- or European broadcasting, relevant for photo- and video journalists. You'll be very surprized: there is no 4K 60fps. Just try to quit a phantasy world and dive for some moments in reality...

  4. a6500 has a 30p crop too IIRC. No crop is likely 4k24p only. edit: Phil A beat me to it I think everyone is overlooking one of the most significant changes - since the Nex5 people have been complaining about the shitty placement and tiny record button, Sony has FINALLY changed it.

  6. Dear EOSHD community, I am an independent french graphic designer and I regularly work in photo and video. Over the years, I created a collection of 3D LUT files to ease the color grading of my projects. Recently I created a pack with my 38 original LUTs. They are profiled on high-resolution color matrix and were built to preserve skin tones as best as possible. I had the chance to work with many different cameras and I spent a lot of time creating these looks and testing on raw footages, from 5DMKII and 7D with Magic Lantern, GH4, A7S, BMPC 4K, and stills from RED EPIC. About HDSLR, these LUTs are calibrated on CineStyle/Cinelike profiles. Also in my pack is included a LUT to properly « flat » a footage and get a good working basis before grading. Website for more infos : http://luts.iwltbap.com Instagram with short video samples : https://instagram.com/luts At the end of this post you will find some sample images before-after. My LUTs pack is for sale $20, but I created a discount code of -25% for EOSHD community. So you can get it for $15 instead of $20 via : https://sellfy.com/p/Ainy/-EOSHD My pack is regularly updated with new LUTs and all updates are free. On my website you can download a free LUT with the famous teal-orange look. Also, I offer for free a 4K film grain based on 35mm film scans (10sec video encoded in Apple ProRes 422 at 25fps). Hope you will like my LUTs. Best, Benjamin

  12. Nx1: still much more details, faster and more consistent af and better colors. Gh5: much better is, 60fps more at 2k, slightly less rs. For video gh5 is probably the best choice right now, if someone is starting a system from scratch. Nx1 is a much better camera for stills and very good for video nevertheless. On a side note, a big thumbs up for this guy, who is still considering nx1, while most other previous "supporters" simply forgot about it.

  13. NX2 would have been scheduled for mid/late 2017 and would have had a much better sensor (i.e. APSC vs m43 to begin with and possibly more than 28MP), with embedded dram for very high performance in slow motion (240fps@1080 at least and 60fps@4k). Who knows? Perhaps it could have been the first 8k consumer camera... And since NX1 is still a much better camera for stills compared to GH5, I can only imagine what NX2 could have been there.

  14. Sorry for starting up another GH5 thread but figured this could focus on test footage/your first go with the camera. Here's mine - got it today, had 10mins of light left after work so took the kids to the park. A mix of 4K 50p and 180fps VFR, daylight WB, iso 200, Sigma 50mm on Speedbooster XL, Natural profile. Shot mainly wide open. No ND filter so controlled exposure with high shutter speed. PRO's so far: Options galore, amazing build, EVF/LCD= amazing. Picture looks GOOD! IBIS = incredible! CON's so far: Annoying sensor that flicks from EVF to LCD (can this be turned off?). Biggest con for me is not being able to flick to 180fps quickly. Had to dig into the menu every time. Really hope this can be assigned to a Function button but doesn't look like it so far. Grrr. I'm a GH4 and A7Sii user so looking forward to comparing. Be hard to beat a7sii but this beast might just do it!

  15. Just bought an AMD Ryzen 1700 CPU @ 3000mhz and a cheap msi am4 mobo + 32gig ddr4. It's the new way cheap 8 core chip and it edits 4k like a charm no more stutters, super smooth. My old i5 was terrible. Anyway if you haven't heard look up the Ryzen CPU's they're a bargain 8 Core (16 threads) and a no brainer esp. for editing needing to upgrade. Even with an 8gig 1070 videocard my i5 2500k didn't like 4k at all. btw I bought the Ryzen 1700 because it's the cheaper cpu and it overclocks easily to 3.9mhz with stock cooler with no fuss.

  16. I'd skip it and focus on shooting Those settings are for matching other cameras, under special conditions, 'just in case', etc. Canon Log 2, Cinema Gamut, and Production matrix works very well with PP CC ARRI LUTs, and FCP X automatically applies a LUT which looks pretty good. In order to speed up production for some blogging stuff I'm working on (shooting me at my desk vs. models/actors in the studio), I've started testing Canon Log 3 with Rec709. So far it's looking pretty amazing straight from the camera (don't want to spend any time in post at all, just shoot, cut, upload, done). Another reason to figure this out (great look straight from camera) is for live streaming (which BTW- the C300 II doesn't do 4K over HDMI, only 1080p (4K out is RAW only)). Using something like OBS (free), it's possible to record live to H.264 locally (and of course straight to YouTube or Facebook) so zero post work is possible. This guy works well for 1080p capture (recommend the heatsink mod for long-term usage): https://www.amazon.com/Magewell-XI100DUSB-HDMI-Capture-Video-Dongle/dp/B00I16VQOY. For 4K (Sony A7S II), this works well: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1271171-REG/epiphan_esp1100_av_io_4k_usb_3_0.html. Both the C300 II and 1DX II make great live-streaming cameras because of the excellent SOOC color and AF.

  17. The only thing I am afraid off: A7Siii wont get those nice pro features. Instead we will have to buy A9s to get dual SD, proper battery and so on. If Sony forces me to choose between a A7SIII with video spec update or A9S at 4500$ just to get the "pro" (but needed) stuff like proper battery and AF, them I am off.

    NX1 / NX500

Rolling shutter is very noticeable when you're using a non IS lens, like any camera, the little jitters will make everything look like jelly. Once you're using a stabilized lens (and may I say, its a very good lens stabilization), most of those issues dissapear. I only shoot handheld, I dont even own a tripod, and never did, most of my struggle was to avoid rolling shutter on any of these new 4k cameras, but once you attach a stabilized lens (or in Sonys case, sensor) those problems become way less prominent.

  19. Fritz, they're on, but awkward to use. So let's say you're viewing your scene, and you see areas of overexposure as indicated by your zebras. You begin to adjust exposure down, but as soon as you press the exposure button, the zebras disappear! So rather than adjusting exposure down until your zebras disappear, you're really just guessing. If you adjust exposure down by 1/3EV and then exit the exposure adjustment, the zebras will either disappear if you adjusted down far enough, or reappear if you weren't aggressive enough in your adjustment. If the zebras are still there upon exiting exposure adjustment, you then need to hit the exposure adjustment again, and bang, the zebras again disappear as soon as you hit the exposure button. It works the same way on the G85. I can't begin to understand Panasonic's thinking on this.

    NX1 / NX500

Let me try and answer as much as possible here, since I have both the a7sII and NX1. 1. I dont think that problem is still alive, neither was alive when I bought the camera. 3. Autofocus is pretty good, unless its lowlight, it hunts quite a bit. 4. Depends on the framerate, 4k - 1600 / 1080p 60 - 800 / 1080p120 - 400. 5. No, however, the rolling shutter can easily be avoided, specially with the 16-50S lens. 6. Yes, it has Gamma DR, however, if you search on other threads, there are custom profiles that work really well. 8. I would say they are average. 9. No idea 10. The EVF and Screen is the best screen in any camera, the a7sII is terrible when compared to the NX1 both in the EVF and Screen. Overall thoughts, The NX1 is still my favorite camera, the image is very very pleasing, and after you learn how to work with its image, is a very veyr strong camera, specially if you get it at a good price.

  21. Sorry, they (Sony) are so far off my radar that I actually didn't realise that their two long primes aren't native mount for this camera. Is there not a known AF speed hit using that adapter and will it still do AF-C? With regard to the Canon shooters, my view would be that the more general photojournalists are the more likely to transition while still using their Canon glass. Sports shooters would need an awful lot of convincing regarding using adapters, particularly when adding TC's in between them as well. The amount of tolerance for any reduction in AF speed would literally be zero. I think for those - and many other reasons such as interoperability and accessories such as speedlites and remote triggers etc) if they do go it will have to be lock, stock and barrel as an entire system. Which is why I still think my money is on the two current dominant brands to win the mirrorless war when they eventually pull their finger out and make one. But if I was a Canon shooter, rather than a Nikon one, doing what I'm doing now which is trying to buck the trend and go mirrorless in sport then I'd be very interested in trying it out to use with my existing glass but it would have to be about half the price to warrant the risk!

    NX1 / NX500

Excellent cameras, for cheap, completely different form factors. Obviously the NX1 is pro orientated, the NX500 not that much. 1. & 2. I do not know about it, maybe it is something that appears in specific circumstances that I do not do anyway. 3. Seems like it is. It is not Canon, but I am using NX1 on Ronin and never disappointed the customers. I do not use AF on any other circumstance, even with a Canon camera. 4. 1600ISO, after that the NR kicks really hard, 2000ISO sometimes, I have the impression that the NR kicks in just after the 2000 ISO, but I try to keep it in 1600 just to be sure. Certainly a camera that needs some kind of light to shine, no A7sII killer here, even AF is so much better with some kind of light (that is obvious and a general rule in photography, but in very low light AF drop dramatically, unlike a Nikon, let's say). 5. The mod increases the bitrate, which is impressive on its own. 4K rolling shutter not that impressive, but near or better than the competition. 1080p is absolutely fantastic though. Check the data. a7s II FF 1080p --- 30.3 ms (29.5-31.2) a7s II FF 4K ------ 30.4 ms (30.2-30.6) a7s FF 1080p ------ 30.5 ms (30.1-32.0-30.5-30.3-29.2-30.9) XT2 4k ------------ 30.7 ms (30.5-30.7-31.2-31.2-30.8-29.9) NX1 4K ------------ 30.9 ms (30.6-31.6-31.4-30.7-30.2) NX1 UHD ----------- 32.6 ms (32.9-32.0-32.9-32.5) a7R II 4K S35 ----- 33.3 ms (35.6-32.2-32.8-35.3-32.6-31.1) RX100 IV 4K ------- 36.6 ms (36.4-36.7) (without stabilization it's slightly faster: 35.7) a6300 4K 24fps ---- 39.0 ms (39.2-38.9) and the only ones, user tested under 10ms 1DX II 1080p 60&120- 6.7 ms (6.6-6.7) NX1 1080p ---------- 7.9 ms (7.7-8.0-8.1-7.8) NX500 2.5k --------- 8.6 ms (8.2-8.8-8.9) 6. Not at all! I use standard profiles for both the cameras anyway. 7. The absolute worst of these cameras is the fact that you can't zoom in to check focus while recording. This is the most annoying thing ever. I hate it! No other issue for me. 8. Relatively great. Miles ahead of Canon's, not as good as a professional sound recordist. Had some issues with headphones jack (listen some echo), but that may be me, trying to adapt to external microphones and.. it's a long story. Easily adjust levels as well. 9. The 2.5K mode was in the original firmware of the NX500 but left out at the last moment (and not in a perfect form, as it seems). 10. I don't use EVFs, and I haven't use a Fuji, but I preferred it from any other I have tested. Not a very formal opinion though. Also, the OLED touch screens of Samsung are just brilliant. There are a lot of other great stuff. 28megapixels BSI sensor - great photo camera, a true 50-50% hybrid. 15fps. H265 is such an advantage (for me) and future proof. Excellent battery life on the NX1, no overheating, ever. Continuous 73minutes recording. Great ergonomics for both cameras (one to each own). Best menu system and touch screen implementation. The unicorn 16-50S 2-2.8f lens, and just the right lenses - if they are the right for you! Fish eye is just excellent. 30mm 2f, great super sharp pancake. 45 1.8f great short portrait. 60mm macro. 85 1.4f, amazing classic portrait lens. The 2 S lenses, and a few more cheap zooms and primes to feel the holes.

The 4K Fuji X-T2 is here

I absolutely agree. I exposed it as that purely to get it up that high so people wouldn't say "but..but...you didn't use the whole range" But also as a test to check that if I was going to go that high that the meters on the Ninja Inferno had a basis in reality when the footage was brought into FCPX. Incidentally, I wish it had a different name as I have to type 'Ninja Inferno' very slowly and deliberately as it just morphs into Disco Inferno in my head! As for the original post, yes, its FLOG then ProNegStd (-2,-2) so people could compare FLOG against a vanilla OOC look. And to see if they could then make it look better obviously. Spoiler alert, I could make it look the same and different but not sure if 'better' would describe it necessarily.

    NX1 / NX500

I'll give you my take: The NX1 is very useable at 1600, in my opinion, that's really the highest I ever have to go with fast glass and a speedbooster. I'll use 3200 in a pinch, but that's honestly more light than I need 95% of the time. There is no gamma DR on the NX500. Most of us NX junkies here on the forum have stopped using Gamma DR anyway, and run with a tweaked standard profile, but the NX500 also lacks a master black level control, so it is quite difficult to get a flat image to match the NX1. Quirks that drive me crazy: You can't adjust the focus punch-in; it's always right to the middle of the image, which is really annoying. Can't do it while recording either. Also, the EVF can't be toggled during recording, you either choose to use it or you don't, the only mirrorless cam I have played with that does this. No mic input on the NX500 also. Preamps on the NX1 are great, head and shoulders better than Canon. Autofocus seems about the same between the two cams. It's no dual-pixel, but very reliable during talking heads, interviews, that kind of thing, and I use it on a gimbal without a problem. I actually like the EVF much better on the NX1 than the Sony cameras, and the screen is way, way better as well. Sony screens and EVFs seem very mushy and soft to me, and peaking is basically useless. The NX1 is far superior in that regard. I've never used a Fuji camera, so I can't comment there. As Mountneer said above, the hack doesn't change rolling shutter at all. My favorite features are the bitrate hack of course, and allowing silent shutter on the NX500, which makes it rule as small, portable timelapse camera. The ergonomics of both cameras, but especially the NX1, are just fantastic. Clear, easy to use menu system, comfortable in the hand-- I just can't give them up. I've been playing around with a GH5 at work quite a bit lately, and it's a cool camera, but... I still like my NX1 more! Good luck!

  25. @Arikhan Where it says internally? "Version 4.0 provides 4:2:2 (8-bit) 4K recording at 24/25/30p onboard to SDXC media cards." "The GY-LS300CH will also now have the capability to output Ultra HD at 60/50p via its HDMI 2.0b port. Through JVC’s partnership with Atomos, the GY-LS300CH will operate seamlessly with the new Ninja Inferno and Shogun Inferno monitor recorders, triggering recording from the camera’s start/stop operation. Plus, when the camera is set to J-Log1 gamma recording mode, the Atomos units will record the HDR footage and display it on their integrated, seven-inch monitors."

    NX1 / NX500

    1. I have never experienced exposure drift on my NX1. 2. There was a topic about it but I did not follow it re answer to number 1 above. 3. Cannot comment, no significant experience with NX500. but I the auto focus on the NX1 is fantastic. 4. Generally 400 is the highest I would recomend. you can use 800 and no one but IQ snobs like myself and the rest of this forum will say anything. You could use 1600 or even 3200 if you really absolutely need to document big foot or something but the IQ really falls off a cliff above 400. 5. No. Read out speed is still the same, no noticeable RS improvement with hack 6. I am not 100% sure but I do not believe so. 7. The UVF lock when in standby mode/recording is probably the biggest quirk that irritates me all the time but not that big of a deal really. Honestly one of the features that does not get any hype but is kind of a stand out is the screen. It is incredible. you dont really notice how good the screen on the NX1 is until to try and use another camera in the sun. 8. Decent, I use a rode video micro all the time without any external pre-amps and it works great. 9. No idea but do not see why you would want it. The benefit from what I understand is the 2.5k hack on the NX500 is good because it give a full sensor readout so no crop. There is not crop on the NX1 in 4K. 10. Sorry I have never used either of those cameras but it is definitely better than the GH4, a7Si, and the XT1. Sorry I couldn't fully answer all your questions but I hope that helps.

  27. No picture profiles is a bit of a disaster and shows that they are not aiming at video shooters with this. Seems Sony would much rather we buy a 10bit 4:2:2 A7S 3... With picture profiles. Looks like we will have to hold off on the purchase and wait to see what NAB brings!

  28. @webrunner5 Hmm...Never underestimate Canons and Nikons power in journalism or wedding market. Their brands as still cameras are very strong and they have very good and reliable devices. Sony is very innovative but though it has to learn built quality & usability from its competitors. Innovation and technical excellence are only two aspects in a very complex and competitive market hardly damaged by the "smartphone revolution"...Just my 2 cents...

  29. This camera is NOT meant for Us to buy. It is a Wedding, Photojournalist camera meant to upload data from the field to some office, hell half way around the world. That is the reason for the Ethernet port. You can only move so much data, in most places sad to say quickly, and that is why this camera will kill Canon and Nikon top offerings. Sony just hit a total Home run on this camera. Hell even the Paparazzi will buy this in droves!

  30. The zebras disappearing when exposure compensation is changed, is something I mentioned a while back with the G85, and is my biggest annoyance with the GH5. I can't begin to understand the rationale for this decision. You need to see the zebras while adjusting exposure, not reappearing after.

  35. They could make this beast a perfect camera with internal 10bit recording! Why Sony? WHY?

  36. This is a righteous camera, but I don't think it's the one we're waiting on. That 100mbps codec kind of tells me there's another one en route.

  37. No weather seal? this a big No-No for pros i guess.

  38. Price in Germany, 5300 €... like the A7 series wasn't already getting silly for people who don't use them for work. Looking forward what a A7 III and/or A7s III will bring. But currently I think I might actually go for a GH5 instead, even though it's a completely different system. I hate changing systems, but you have to decide for a camera you will actually shoot something with and not what "might get released in 6 months time".

  39. Seems like it has a crop: "In full-frame shooting, the angle of view will be narrower under the following conditions: – When [File Format] is set to [XAVC S 4K] and [Record Setting] is set to [30p]."

  40. Don't the NX1, Sony A6500 and GH5 already offer that ?

  41. Well, at least Sony's not being obtuse about battery life. Snoozefest, otherwise.

  42. Semi-excited (I guess that is what the Oscars feel to others?). You can pre-order one of my kidneys, I need to get prepared in case something good gets announced. Looking forward to an even smaller 4k fullframe camera with fully articulate screen (ribbon cable MBF 1 month though), 10bit 4:2:2 recording (overheating after 5 minute though), fast and accurate PDAF (but with a 3 page menu to setup that loses settings when you change focus mode), with a new higher res EVF & screen (which dim to 10% brightness when recording) and 240fps VFR mode (but all framerates with 45ms rolling shutter). Video button has been placed inside of the battery compartment to prevent accidental pressing. 5000$, releases next month but you won't be actually able to get one until September. Of course just kidding... somewhat... maybe. EDIT: http://www.sonyalpharumors.com/sonys-new-α9-camera-revolutionises-the-professional-imaging-market/ It's the A9... even though the stream just only started. Anticlimactic ;-) Sounds amazing for photography, but the condensed spec sheet on SAR sounds like video will be the same codecs like the A7s II? So looking at a 4500 GBP price, probably not yet what we hoped for. So where is the A7s III? NAB on the weekend?

  43. You can do a 48fps mode on 7D you don't need to stretch.

  44. Someone on the ML forum is saying they now have 1080/48p and 50fps (I think) working fine, not sure about 60p yet.

The 4K Fuji X-T2 is here

I like it too. It doesn't break easily. There is chroma smearing/shift as wel but it doesn't jump in your eye. I like the noise as well. Here is a grade The footage is very sensitive to contrast, before you know you're shadows get this burned in look.

  46. I have run all my PC overclocked since... (can´t remember :)) It´s 1.25v at 3.7Ghz 8cores, with offset, going 0.485v in idle, that´s nothing, temperatures are excellent so noise too. I´m testing now 3.8Ghz no high gain, and my chip needs 1.30v, it gives me only +1point in Cinebench. Stability is solid rock, +4 hours Realbench, windows too, just installed the AMD Ryzen Energy plan. 0 problems. Durability? My last PC was from 3.4Ghz to 4.2Ghz since 2011, 0 problems. Now it´s working for other person. Ryzen 1700 gives us a 8 core for the masses.

  47. Hey Jase, I'm in the same situation as you. Love the GX80 and it goes everywhere with me and the 15/1.7 mounted. Prefer the tilt screen too. I'm doing a small documentary with a lot of kids in educational settings. The client loves the fact that I just disappear and the kids forget that I'm there. I would love the extra slow motion and Tele-converter features of the GH5, but the tradeoffs in size, extra battery type, etc. are a pain. For sound I've been relying on a lav + small Tascam DR-10 recorder, but I've just received my instamic pro which is great and should make it so easy to quickly clip to someone when needed and record excellent audio without wires, especially kids. There is a unofficial facebook group about the instamic. I haven't had a chance to really test the mic yet, but when I'm on Easter Holiday this weekend, I'll clip it to my kids and see what I can put together.

  49. Honestly, Mattias' LS300 footage is better than anything I have seen from the GH5. With this update, this camera is epic. I don't love the form factor and I have no intention of buying one, but it really is unmatched at this price point.
