Looks good. But still not sure if I'd be willing to give up the compact formfactor, again, given there's the Leica and Olympus that are 1mm off in focal length. It really looks beastly on there.

Optically looks in line with the 30mm, so pretty sweet. Cleanly shaved smooth sharp look, one might say. Looking forward to more coverage and direct comparisons that undoubtedly are going to appear in due time.

Its a gorgeous lens to use and hold. But I think it is a bit overrated because it is so well made, with the aperture ring (which I always use). I am expecting the Sigma to blow it away and will be happy to sell it as I have an alternative compact solution for photos (Ricoh GR). The 15 isnt bad, it is better than the sharp Panny 20mm and the other primes in similar ranges, but it doesn't have the magic that the Sigma 30 1.4 has. For maximum IQ the Sigma will almost certainly win in the corners and edges at wide apertures. Hopefully there will be some comparison reviews for confirmation. Jon saying it is like a longer PL12 is a massive indicator that it will be a big step up. Like when someone posted a yoga video in this thread and switched from the PL15 to the PL12 half way though. The difference was very noticeable.

  6. Click it three times and it opens up full size in another window. Pretty darn amazing. Did you want the product placement?

I don’t know enough about the 12mm but I think that may be one of my favorites of your shots. Very nice colors. I love how the blue umbrella pops right behind his head and then the red on his collar helps to bring our attention to his face. He’s looking at you like he thinks you’re a spy... Lol. Can you post a photo of that lens on your camera? I’d like to see how big it is.

  8. Thats it! The IBIS hum is probably the reason GH5 must cut low frequencies of internal audio.

  11. I get that. Either way it’s a great short that was so well done on so many levels. But your work usually is.

  12. I spoke to a Panasonic rep some months ago who said they would be announcing more about the organic sensor at the end of the year.

  14. I haven't directly compared it personally, but the rough feeling I got from reading about it online is that the extra cost (& storage) isn't worth the few diminishing returns. (as the whole point of the F3 to me, is its amazing affordability!)

  15. You could probably get two Panasonic G80 bodies for that secondhand? Gains better battery life, flip out screen, 4K, and IBIS And we're STILL waiting on an a5100 replacement?! It is tricky business crystal ball gazing

  16. The video assist won't accept 4;4;4. It will probably give you a green tinted image if you send 4;4;4. for use with the video assist, set the f3's sdi out S-Log 4;2;2 Use SDI output A, not the 'Video Out' bnc connector. If you're set to 24p you should be sending 24p out of the sdi. the BM video assists seem to sometimes detect the wrong frame rate - on the A7 series they see a 25, 24 and 30p signal as 59.98, but when imported into the timeline you'll see the correct framerate. It's worth setting the camera to Cine EI mode since it locks you at 800iso and you get the most from the sensor. correctly exposed you can pull or push the 4;2;2 footage a lot before it breaks up. Amazing camera. ps. watch out for the 'shutter on/off' switch down near the bottom left in front of the flip out screen. Set to 'off' gives you 360degree and changing shutter angle won't change anything. catches you out sometimes.

  17. I haven't tried it with 5D3 CinemaDNGs, but all other DNGs I've tried have benefited from the workflow. So it's worth a shot!

  19. I'm guessing many here know this, but one of the coolest action flicks of the past 10 years, The Raid: Redemption, was apparently shot on an AF-100! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1899353/technical?ref_=tt_dt_spec
