Will receive my S1H on Monday and will test it. Let's hope these two issues are fixed. Can confirm that the blue channel issue has been resolved already - on the prototype S1H cameras on the IBC at least.2 points

Might help give some heft for a shoulder too. EasyRig solo isn’t that much of a pain. You just pull down the cable with one hand and mount the camera with the other. I used to do it all the time with a c100 mk2 operating without an asst for one reason or another1 point -

The Zaxcom patent covers a slightly different situation as it is for a base recorder that is receiving timecode stamped packets of audio from the pocket transmitters with these same packets also being recorded locally on the transmitters. This then enables the master recorded file to have any packets lost in the transmission to be filled in by the locally recorded files. The Tentacle is just purely a transmission of bluetooth audio without timecode embedded so won't infringe. Well, as far as I understand it anyway ! Coincidentally, the Zaxcom patent is actually set to be challenged next month. https://www.ipwatchdog.com/2019/08/13/another-ptab-casualty-emmy-awarded-wireless-microphone-technology-invalidated/id=112135/1 point

Best way to focus

wasted sounds a bit severe, considering there is not that many other options and none of them are cheap. Perhaps you should look at like joining an elite club, only certain members get in and the riff raff stays outside ?1 point -
Do single focus solutions change the focal length of the lens?

Without question. It is the key. I spent many years prior to being a 'hybrid' photographer/videographer watching vidiots at work with their huge tripods, sliders etc taking sometimes 10+ minutes to set up a single shot. Wasting 10 minutes in my opinion. It's all well and good capturing that one 'hero' shot because you saw it on someone else's wedding video, but the reality is you are denying the client so much more potential footage and story. Unless the client just wants the hero shots which is then fair enough. Indeed. Too many are always chasing the next bit of kit that will then allow them to realise their creative vision. Just get on with it with what you have got and stop making excuses. But then this is a thread about 'dream kit' so carry on ?1 point

That is absolutely insane, should I buy that instead of the Sound Devices 833? ha!1 point

A very rough breakdown of the space in terms of the ratios (not completely accurate, the sound proofed studio for instance probably would take up much more space than the repairs desk, even if the interior of it would end up being a similar ish size): A fifth of the space would be for a small bed (wellll.... I am talking about me, it would be a big bed! I'm a tall man). A fifth of the space would be for a mini recording studio which is fully sound proofed. (for those wild lines on set! Much much better to do it on the spot, than to try to arrange a time in the schedule of a busy busy and important actor) A fifth of the space for a comprehensive repairs desk / analytics / spares. Two fifths of the space for storage of all the gear needed for a feature film, big commercial, or a tv series shoot! You can see why I'm worried the truck might not have enough space.... And yes, I have thought about living in a truck, I follow this blog: https://frominsidethebox.com/ However the truck I shared an image of is by no means big enough at all to both live in AND have all my sound gear! Nope, couldn't possibly happen. (I barely have space in my apartment.... is a mess, overflowing with gear! And this is much much bigger than truck, and I have much much less gear than I would in my dream scenario!)1 point

Hmmmm...... if that is so.... Then swap that Zoom F4 for a Sound Devices MixPre3! (and I say that even as a big big big time Zoom F Series fan! Love my F8n) I couldn't decide! Thus selected the Fuji which would be good for most work, but then if you really wanted that extra stop and a bit of light for a particular shoot then you've got the Sigmas as well! Please excuse me while I go list everything everywhere that ever has been made. As purely for my SOUND PACKAGE I'm going to need a truck to carry it all: Yes, this truck. This exact truck. I'm not even joking. My only worry? Is that it might be too small!1 point

Anamorphic Store Lens Clamp
Tito Ferradans reacted to Bold for a topic
I wouldn't recommend buying a thing from that guy under any circumstances. His products are overpriced and in some cases appear to be of poor quality. I'd recommend taking a look at Rapido Technology's clamp selection instead. I have one of his clamps. He doesn't mess around - the quality of workmanship is great and the prices are reasonable.1 point -

Conspiracies, cost cutting, delusions... it's all the same to me. There's only so much value to be had in speculation about the whys and hows. The bottom line is: I'm not buying any camera that doesn't shoot 24p.1 point -
Canon EOS M6 Mark II
EthanAlexander reacted to Andrew Reid for a topic
Well said. The cheapest camera with 24p is probably something like $80 And people still believe the Canon rep PR spin that 24p had to go to bring the price of their $1400 camera down a bit and that Canon did everybody a favour and it's good business! LOL! People are so gullible it saddens me to the core. Even the EOS 1300D has 24p! Obviously not in 4K but this is one of their cheapest and worst DSLRs. There is a reason Canon do not want filmmakers and enthusiasts using 4K 24p for under $2000 and it has nothing to do with profit margins, licensing costs, technological capabilities and everything to do with forcing these advanced users to pay more for a different model, end of story.1 point -

EthanAlexander reacted to MaverickTRD for a topic
I’ve never had an account in here. Just lurked. But I finally had to sign up. Some of us grow so tired of reading your repetitive assumptions, theories, and misguided opinions. No one in their right mind thinks canon removed 24p to save a bit of money. Furthermore the license fees fees have an annual cap. Once a company hits that cap it can’t cost them more. I imagine big companies that manufacture video equipment using these codecs hit that cap regularly please stop repeating the same terrible excuse every page1 point -
Canon EOS M6 Mark II
EthanAlexander reacted to newfoundmass for a topic
I can't continue this discussion, you're giving me a head ache. Canon didn't negotiate a cheaper license by promising not to use 24p. It didn't. There's not even anecdotal evidence to support such a ridiculous theory. End of story. Canon should just remove all manual modes on their cameras next, since most casual users don't shoot in anything but auto mode anyways!1 point -
