@DEFI63 Génial. Encore un français qui refuse de s’exprimer dans la langue toute a fait dominatrice de ce forum. Et non, le R5 n’arrive pas le 16 mai. Ils se sont trompés dans la traduction du site allemand.2 points -

I'd be a happy man if Panasonic had made the S1 the same size, weight, and shape as my old Nikon D750.1 point -

Why not put it on a tripod and shoot a test clip and then take a RAW still image and then compare?1 point

What are you shooting? Just a simple straight to camera talking head, a single person? With switching to say a 2nd camera angle and an overhead product shot? If it is ok to have a mic in frame, then use the NT1 into the P4K (if it is cleaner than the ATEM? Which sounds like is maybe the case? You'll have to test). Next best option is the Rode VideoMic Pro+ just an half inch above the edge of frame (if your shot is too wide, you might be able to cut out the mic even though you're live streaming?). Otherwise, if your shot is wiiiiiiiiide (and the mic can't be removed out of shot) and/or your speaker sways around too much in his set rather than being still, use the lav.1 point

A few things: ADC in this camera is linear, so no funny business with Log encoding or anything like that. 96db of dynamic range is an audio standard. The video/photo equivalent would be 48db (a stop is either 3db or 6db, power or amplitude). IIRC N-bit ADCs have DR = 6.021N + 1.763dB (audio), or 3.021N + 1.007dB, so a 12-bit ADC = 74dB/37dB or 12.333 stops of dynamic range. The sensor is 12-bit readout of ~6K photosites in a Bayer array.. When this is tested at 4K we have significantly more than 12 bits of readout per measured pixel. 8-bit 4k IS 10-bit 1080p, etc.1 point

cheap (ish) wireless lav for 3.5mm camera?
newfoundmass reacted to IronFilm for a topic
It's ok, I won't kill you :-) As how/why you'll use anything is an important question to ask. Back in my first comment I said: "(although this would be sufficient for some purposes, such as vloggers who are never more than an arm length's away from their cameras)" Yes, even Rode Wireless GO etc have their place!1 point -
Color is perfect, especially if you use a ACES transform in resolve. 90% of the reason I went with the camera was the color. Biggest pain in the ass with it is that it is switching from 24p 4:4:4 to 60p 4:2:2, have to dig into the system menu, change the system setting to 60p, then change the SDI out.1 point

Top-level gear adds a slight green tint to the image - is this a thing?
heart0less reacted to thebrothersthre3 for a topic
The differences become pretty apparent in the harsh blue/red light situation. Alexa really pulls on top. That said the Pocket 6k is definitely the nicest high res camera package under 10,000, at least if we are talking about buying new.1 point -
What REALLY prompted Canon suddenly to get their act together with video?

The A7s ii was the companies he worked for I believe. Now with his own business it is not just real estate (that is probably not a huge part of it now ..will ask him next I see him). He was working at a major electronics retailer part time too and had nice discounts on some gear.1 point

The laowa 12mm zero distortion is a good fit, as you dont want a lot of distortion on you real estate video's.1 point -

Obviously, I can't answer for Dustin's nephew. And I am curious about this, too. But I can tell you that the reason I switched from my a6500 (which is a pretty good camera for RE video) to an S1 was for the 10-bit codec and the better screen and the better IBIS. I found that I don't need to use my external 5-inch monitor on my S1, not because the LCD screen is brilliant, but because it is "good enough" in bright sunlight (compared to the a6500 where you might as well just put a mirror on the back of the LCD because even a mirror would be LESS reflective than the screen on an a6500). So I wouldn't be surprised if those wer esome of the reason's his nephew went for the GH5. Oddly enough, there is not a HUGE dynamic range benefit between the S1 and the a6500, but banding is all but eliminated and the shadows are significantly cleaner (Hmmm.... re-reading that< guess that means there IS a big difference in dynamic range???) Plus the 10-bit codec is really helpful in removing color casts (and when you are shooting real estate which is 98% of the time using available light / house lights, you get LOTS of color casts). I haven't used a GH5, but if you are on a gimbal and walking through a house, shooting in 4K 60 would also be helpful to smooth out the footage in post. (Assuming of course it is just a straight "walkthrough" type video where you aren't recording anyone talking.1 point -

Version 2.0 FW update V-Log setting now has noise reduction of -1, which should address any NR issues you are complaining about. May 25th will be a happy day for S1H users.1 point

Have only owned a limited number of cameras but the GH5 has been my favorite body. That isn't saying much considering I've mostly owned smaller cameras other wise (Fuji, APSC Sony, older Panasonic's) The XT3 is about as small of a body as I can take. I really dislike the XT30 body. Its just way too small. Its nice as a travel camera though as it can more easily fit in a pocket. I prefer tilt screens to flip screens. Screens that are built into the body are unacceptable and pretty useless IMHO(looking at you Blackmagic and Canon). Black magic definitely has the nicest menu's but they don't have to include any photo oriented settings which makes it way easier. I feel like it would be better if hybrid cameras had a completely different menu for the photo and video modes, rather than just having things greyed out.1 point -
A short trip to Kiruna (Osmo Action & Mavic 2 Pro)
scotchtape reacted to Dimitris Stasinos for a topic
Just before the coronavirus outbreak in Europe, me and my wife decided to make use of some tickets we had booked 2 months before and visit our friends in Kiruna, Sweden. It proved to be a risky trip as many flights where cancelled one after another and we could stuck at any airport during our transition or return but it also proved to be one of the greatest trips of our life so far. I managed to squeeze a Mavic 2 Pro and an Osmo Action into my luggage (sadly my beloved GH5 and it’s accessories had to stay back in Greece) plus a bunch of masks, gloves and alcohol wipes… So, short story, below you can take a glimpse of our 7-Day trip into the Arctic Circle. The vast majority of these shots (almost 95%) where taken with an OSMO action (handheld, no accessories) and i was personally amazed with this little gem. Of course i missed my Lumix, my motorised slider, my gimbal etc but on the other hand, if i had all of these with me i wouldn’t have the ability to walk 10 km into the frozen Abisko National Park while interacting with my companionship.1 point
