  1. Almost forgot, if you press the bottom trigger, while holding the stick to the right and double tap the C button you get a power up combo

  2. I did it guys. I went back to the Sony F3! Finally found a descent deal on it. 2.1k for all this. Since I don't need the 4k I was between this, a canon c300, c100, Sony fs5 and fs700. The F3 with 444 has 850hrs and the pix e5 came with 960gbs of storage.

  3. Just be prepared for a demo of AF on 16mm film, because that’s definitely gonna happen 🤘🏻

  4. Yes, they will connect wirelessly. The AFX acts as the hub device controlling the camera (and lens motors for manual focus lenses) and receives/sends data to/from the additional components. An example of this that is built in already is the Tilta control wheel when using BMPCC4K/6K. It connects over BLE to the AFX and the AFX then translates its movements into controlling the native electronic lenses on the camera. This means that P4K/6K cameras can have the advantage of the more tactile control of a focus wheel without having to have focus motors and powering them etc. So in the same way, the additional module to offer AI based focus detection will process the data onboard and then pass that wirelessly to the AFX to action on the camera/lens motors.

  5. I was stunned to see this from this article that the two Zii models are to shoot 4k BMRaw at 60 fps with a future firmware upgrade in February for the z6ii and perhaps at launch for the z7ii in december. One thing to remember is that the z6ii shoots with a 1.5 crop (DX) but the Z7 shoots with only 1.1x crop. https://*banned URL*/nikon-z7-ii-and-z6-ii-raw-support

  6. Thanks for your support. Have to play that one close to my chest for now. But it won't be far behind the AFX so the suspense won't last too long !

  7. Just bought the AFX, this is awesome. Any word on the actual sensor tech for the AI-based add-on? Is it an additional chip-based system running contrast detect or something? Or phase detect?

    Mavic Mini 2 unveiled

I just got a mavic 2 pro. So its its a bit like the empire strikes back 😉 done a few flights, getting used to it. Seen a few vids where somebody lifts things with the mavic so i ordered an accessory that mounts a gopro to the top. Darth better be careful or he'll find himself replaced. not so sure about the little anamorphic adapters for the gimbal, which is why i'm trying out the gopro first.

  10. Purchased, and can't wait to receive it. The original PCB made my Pocket 4k experience so much better. 2 quick questions: 1. Will this new module still link with the nano wheel, allowing you to pull focus with ef/native lenses in addition to the autofocus? 2. are there any good solutions for mounting the handheld controller to a cage or rail system? I understand its need, but I also rarely have a free hand while operating the camera and would hate to be putting it in my pocket or something.

  11. DJI software drives me crazy sometimes. There have been times where I check ahead of time to make sure that no Unlocking is needed in the location I am going to shoot. Then when I show up, the app is telling me I need to unlock that location. Of course, it is out in the boondocks and I don't have cell service, so I can't unlock the location by phone. Then when I get home I look again and confirm that NO UNLOCK is needed for that location. The other issues I have is where the "checkbox warnings" (I don't know what they are called, but they ask you to confirm that you are authorized to fly in that area and that you accept the responsibility to fly there), will pop up NUMEROUS times during the course of a flight. Literally, they will pop up 20 times during the course of one battery when i am flying in an area less than 100 meters square. Constantly having to consent to their requirements when trying to film drives me crazy.

  12. The timing! I’m in the middle of making my own similar device, with a raspberry pi zero, only mine will offer both LIDAR-based AF for my Pocket4K as well as SteadXP-type stabilization using a gyroscope and accelerometer. Mine is for me though, no plans to sell, so we can skip the cease and desist letters. I am also working on an iOS app for the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max that will do the same things, use the phone’s LIDAR to control BMPCC’s af as well as record movement with gyro and accelerometer for stabilization. That one will be available soon.

  15. Someone needs to make a device with a USB-C port that takes the CDNG from the camera and outputs compressed CDNG to a T5 SSD in realtime.
