I feel like there is a crowd for these videos here. Apologies for the shameless self promotion though.

  3. There’s something wrong with this example you’ve shared. There’s some weird sharpening or bad compression severely affecting the image. Also the exposure for many of the shots is significantly off.

  4. I think its very shot dependent. I used the S1 with a 35mm lens on a gimbal and it looked fantastic. It was a slower shot though without much if any panning. The main use for IBIS for me is more like getting stable more static handheld shots. IS can accomplish this too but I'd rather use my Canon FD glass or Sigma primes rather than a Canon AF lens or something.

  5. IBIS is a double edged sword and why I'm maybe happier and shooting better without it on the Pockets. Like you I find it led to warping on wide angles and occasionally some telephoto shots. Mostly wide angle though. I find shots hand holding my Pocket 4K with a Canon IS lens and some Resolve stabilisation, do look a lot better than my GH5 shots with IBIS. Though you lose some resolution doing it in post. I use a GH5s on my gimbal and not the GH5. I use the GH5 where I need to hand hold the camera on the go... plus when its raining. Its not a gimbal camera for me.

  6. It’s not a stupid question but a valid one...but no for many reasons I won’t bore anyone with! I’m struggling to see past an S1H now. Same money as 2x S5 bodies, but I can probably justify it based on expected useage of 75 weddings so extra cost covered with the 1st wedding of the year.

  7. Nice job. Looks a tad oversharpened though and I am not sure how effective those blurred shots are, looks a bit too artificial.

  8. Ok, so here is my stupid question of the day: If most weddings are outdoors, why not a GH5 for your third camera (for the ceremony / speeches) instead of an S1H? It should last over an hour, right? I've never used a GH5 so I don't know either way.

  9. For pure stills, the R5. For pure video, the Sony. For hybrid, could go either way depending on your picture requirements. Would be my opinion.

  10. Thanks Seb, I always used a FF sensor also on baby hypergonar and agfa moller 19/1.5X , the stills attached are from the baby hypergonar with helios on 5D3. it's an internal clamp system made for me by a smart french guy Guillaume!

  11. Its funny because its true. B roll on youtube has become the tail wagging the dog. Solid acting on that piece by the way.

  12. Well for me id rather have more dynamic range and lowlight so its Sony.

  13. You can get variable IRND right? I really don't use them to be honest, was an issue with my old non IR VND!

  14. Well yeah, I more meant the IR pollution. I know this has been taken care of on most of the hard stop filters. Still an issue with variable, no?

  15. Actually, a correction: ARM is not making these chips for Apple. ARM actually doesn't make chips at all, they license their designs in two distinct ways. The first way is licensing a full design of an actual chip, so all someone like HTC or LG has to do is pay the licensing rights, send the design to a Fab (where chips are built) and they are done. The second (and much less common way) is that they license what's called an "ISA" (Instruction Set Architecture), which is basically (to put it simply) the words/instructions that the "language" of an ARM architecture speaks, and then someone like Apple can license this ISA and then design and implement its own chips designs *from scratch* implementing the ISA, and this is where things get interesting as Apple has world-class leading-edge engineers designing from ground zero its own chips. So although Apple's chips are "ARM-based", they are not the generic chips most other manufacturers buy, and this is where Apple shines. A great thing about this approach (which as you can imagine, is very expensive) is that Apple can modify the chip as fit, and add all the extra circuitry to it to optimize it for specific things (like macOS acceleration, encryption in real-time, video encoding and decoding, Machine Learning, etc). Bottom line: Even if you try to compare two ARM-derived chips running at the same frequency between say a generic Android device and an Apple-designed one, it is highly-likely that Apple's chips will be more efficient in real-world terms. For those interested in this topic I wrote a lengthly article about Apple Silicon. I offer below the original link (in Spanish) and the Google-translated version of it in english (the translation is surprisingly good): http://eliax.com/index.cfm?post_id=11569 https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=es&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Feliax.com%2Findex.cfm%3Fpost_id%3D11569 Hope that explains a bit what's going on here (as a Microprocessor Engineer and Computer Scientist I know a bit about these things and the industry as a whole, and love to share my knowledge in layman terms).

  16. It's incredible cosimo ! And I'm surprised it's working on FF with a 58mm taking lens. . I don't know what others Super 8 anamorphic lens can do so, none I supposed. What is your "invisible" clamp ?

  17. @keessie65 there I was contemplating selling my beloved Bolex 16/32/1.5x last night, chanced upon this thread, started having another play with my GX8 and 20/1.7 and now resolute I’m going to use it more and about to pull the trigger on the single focus add on 😃 I love how compact this thing is on the GX8 with pancake. Also figured out how to get this to work in stills mode by using the Penny EXTC mode in Medium at 8MP, which gives an extra 1.3x crop on the already 2x crop. Took a quick snap before. Works on my Voigtlander 25/0.95 too 😍 Love this anamorphic. Think they may need to bury me with it. Cheers for the inspiration pal 🙂
