  2. I don't think this will come at tall. But what may come in the next generation of S bodies is a very powerful chip fully dedicated on AF, because as some article have pointed out, the contrast detect AF is very powerful dependent. So with the increase of power the AF has improved recently. So one of the solution would be to dedicate an entire chip only to control the AF. The more power, the more accurate and fast this will be.

  3. That is perfect! Can even set different expiry times for different viewers! Great find! Signed up, created account, uploaded a clip and it's already processed and ready for watching.

  4. Might be worth looking at this service as it seems to tick the boxes for what you need. https://screenlight.tv/ The free account seems like it will suffice as you only have a single project.

  5. No, I can’t find any either. From what I have seen, the DGO sensor is worse than the sensor on the C300 Mkii or the C200. You don’t even need to shoot raw to that look on the C300 mkii - 12 bit 1080p or 4K 10 bit both look excellent. This is coming from someone who just bought the C70 but has used the C300 mkii on hundreds of shoots. To top it off, my initial tests don’t show the sensor to be any cleaner than the older ones. Kind of a disappointment...

  6. What androidlad said. Alternatively you can try one of those upscale plug ins that are out there. They may give you slightly better results but honestly 1080p holds up pretty well when upscaled without them.

  7. It's about consistency, especially when you're working on professional projects. If I deliver 23.98 fps footage to someone that hired me to film b-roll for their feature or documentary, I'm probably not going to get hired again. That footage needs to seamlessly fit into their work flow. Having a hard on for it really has nothing to do with it. If you're personally filming stuff for your own project, then shoot in whatever frame rate your heart desires.

  8. Once it is watchable on the internet, ANYWHERE on the internet, encrypted or not, then it will be possible for it to be copied and shared elsewhere. It's a simple fact of life.

  9. Shot a few times with it handheld, and yikes, the tension it puts on your right wrist as it tries to twist it around is immense. Not really a super comfortable camera to shoot with like that. Too tall!

  10. Those aren't attacks on the Democratic Party, those are attacks on our elections and pandering to the most delusional of Trump's supporters. You (and he) can claim all you want about how left he is, but it's a ridiculous claim. I'm not religious, but yes my relatives on my father's side are Jews. My great grandparents and their kids left during the earlier pogroms, the rest of the family were never heard from again once the Nazis invaded Lithuania. Free speech is a great thing, but not all speech deserves to be amplified. I know first hand what happens when these ideas gain traction, and it's not good.

  11. True. But it's also much longer, so it seems like overall a better form factor. With a cage, you can mount accessories like a SolidPod to the side, right? Also, for me, it might be desirable to go with a 5" monitor on the C70. I'm not a big fan of smaller monitors or the dslr-style flip out vs the externa monitor configuration of cine cameras that can be moved around more easily and are better for positions such as holding the camera into your body for better stability hand holding. If you plan to use the camera almost always on sticks, a monopod or gimbal, the C70 body style is probably great. If you do a lot of handheld or handheld with an Easyrig style stabilizer, I think the traditional cine camera style is probably better. As with most things, it's a matter of personal shooting style.

  12. Understood. Are you using Davinci for post-editing? Whenever I've had clips with different frame rates I make sure to first set my timeline to the desired framerate (and not let it automatically decide framerate based on the clip properties). then I just work on the ones that I want to conform first by doing multiselect on those clips and then right click, change speed, and set the framerate to 24. Also, I've noticed since updating to Davinci 17 that when I specify a project framerate of 24 fps, all those 23.98fps clips appear as 24fps once I drop them onto the timeline...so I really don't think the aforementioned additional step is even needed if using the latest version of Davinci 17 and specifying project framerate beforehand.

  13. As I have been dealing with a mild case of appendicitis I have checked out of this discussion. Hoping to avoid surgery. And spending 5 hours in an ER seeing exactly what this hoax virus is doing To people...my god. But it’s people exactly like Tim Pool here that give real journalists a bad name. He is a disgrace. The world needs to tune out people like him and start doing the far more important and hard thing and solve our troubles, not peddling in this click-bait sensationalist fear and hate mongering.

  14. In Premiere Pro, you don't have to drag to resize. Simply right click the clip and choose "Scale to frame size" and it will match timeline resolution. Make sure "Maximum render quality" is checked so it uses a good quality up-scaling algorithm (bicubic).

  15. Face tracking works very well as expected in 4k 25p on the little Sony, but 1080 100p is dreadful. Revising my plan from shooting 1080 100p to 1080 50p in order to keep the face tracking! Just in case anyone is interested 😉 Just need to work on matching Sony 1080 50p footage to Panasonic 4K 50p on the same timeline... I appreciate it's not going to look 'the same' but I only need to get around 10 sequences in the ballpark/as close as so not too worried. One day, I'll just have to get a Sony A7Siii but at around 7x the price (with no lens), it will have to wait until 2022! Or maybe by then, we will have a FF PDAF Panasonic...

  16. You're awesome Caleb thank you so much for that! I'll dig a little deeper with it and see if the optical groups are rotating on their own and if not, time to mod this puppy!

  17. Here is what the creators behind LBRY themselves said about lbry.tv: https://odysee.com/@lbry:3f/talkingaboutodyseeandlbry:6 So yes, don't go to lbry.tv if you're just a casual goer, rather Odysee.com is the place to be. (and in this regards, I feel Curtis Judd / Tom Antos / etc made a mistake in promoting their move to lbry.tv instead of promoting Odysee.com) Edit: lol, when I went to Odysee just now it said "Hi, we're an alternative to quibi." (last time I visited it said something along the lines of "Now with 50% less bending over park benches". Heh)

    Photokina is dead

I love trade shows because it provides a timeline for companies to announce, ship, and demonstrate products. I love trade show because I can meet the engineers behind products and often the owners of small companies and start or reinforce business relationships. I love trade shows because it is a time to network and gather with industry friends old and new. I love trade shows because anyone can blog about a cool new product that I might not otherwise be aware of. Large companies hate trade shows because they are an expensive budget line items that do not provide as much of a return on investment as compared to other marking activities. Large companies hate trade shows because they do not always naturally align with product cycles, which cause inefficiency in product realization, release schedules and product marketing or worse it may mean there is nothing new to show or announce. Large companies hate trade shows because they have a buy a booth that is large enough to compare with their competitors who also have to have to spend lot on a large booth to look equally well established and successful and also they have to sponsors different trade show related events, signage, panels, mixers etc. even more ways to get even more money from large companies who don't necessary want to be there in the first place. Small startup companies love trade shows because they can release/show a new product and make as much noise as a large company for a fraction of the cost. I understand why, if all of the large companies of an industry get together and collectively decide that they are not going to be the anchor tenets of a specific trade show, that they were, for many years forced to attend/sponsor and now they have an excuse (COVID) not to attend/sponsor and don't want to commit to attend in the future, why some of the trade shows I love and they hate are going to go away.
