    R5 vs R6

Yesterday I was shooting bowl jam all day using mix of 4k25/50/100p, i didn't get the overheating warning but I did get down to 5 min, so for last grand final I did the reset trick (with v1.2 firmware) and worked. Weatherwise it got some patch of clouds so not boiling hot but still hot as it is the hottest month down here.

  2. Hello, I wanted to share with you a vid we filmed over a day a few weeks ago about Alzheimer's. Let me know if you have any questions about it.

That trick makes me want to get the camera. Pretty janky for some work but for solo shooting I could get away with it. Hopefully Canon doesn't disable it in a firmware update.

    Panasonic GH6

Their silence is another thing that doesn't make me feel particularly confident. I know it seems like I'm being negative, I'm honestly looking for a reason to stick with M43, but things have changed rapidly in the last 2 years and everyone has caught up. Back then they were the only one that had all the features they had, so it was easy to make the argument (which I made) that AF wasn't a big deal when they gave you everything else they did. And still, I find the AF on my GH5 to be OK, but I'm also aware that my needs aren't the same as other's needs and for a lot of people AF is one of the main selling points. I'm just asking Panasonic to rise to the occasion or at least let us know what's going on so we can make whatever decisions we might need to take. Stop leaving us in the dark, please.

  5. This is exactly how I mount for most of my remote camera work. Add a safety lanyard to the camera strap holder, super clamp etc just in case that super clamp get loose for whatever reason. The critical part is when mounting and dismounting as if something fall it can injure. Normally I prepare all in the ground, fix the lanyard first and then mount so that nothing can accidentally fall. You should also check the insurance, here in stadium if you don't have a professional insurance you cannot mount anything anywhere (rightly so). Again in all top league hockey in the world we mount the camera in the goal with a single super clamp, it never happen to me that it did come completely loose.... and yes goaltender hits it, puck hits it, the whole goal is moved out some time..

  6. If size and cost aren't limiting factors, I'd go steadicam vest+arm & gimbal. Balancing a gimbal is easier than a steadicam. Steadicam arm+vest eliminate some of the fatigue and helps smooth out z-axis bounce. 😄 you could even be as cool as this guy 👇🏽... slapping on a monitor, with no wires or batteries... hauling 15lbs of gear to stabilize a heavy ass sony A6XXX. lmfao wtf is even going on in this pic?! 🤣

  7. It was put on YouTube so the message got out to a large audience, it's got to kickstart a debate. Michael Moore says it was originally going to go into cinemas but the coronavirus pandemic of course scuttled that plan. What parts of the movie do you find to be 'downright lies'? Let's see if you can be specific! A lot of the YouTube 'critiques' are sponsored by hedge funds. Probably 80% of the material on the internet on the subject of green energy and biomass is shill content. You do realise that don't you? The movie told you exactly who funds and sponsors Bill McKibben and 350.org so I suggest you pay attention next time you skim through it!!

  8. Sad to think I got into filmmaking basically at the very PEAK of camera sales, and now it is so so much less. @ntblowz, you could just about almost see me! If only the building at 2 Emily Place etc wasn't in the way. It's baaaaad news for the used market if you like picking up bargains. If for instance a future Nikon D500S gets released, you'll never ever see so many of those popping up on eBay a few years later, like you can find a Nikon D300S for ease dirt cheap.

  9. Mr. Brynn North dropping another beautiful montage. GH5, Speedbooster, Canon 7-200 f4, Sigma 18-35 f1.8, and Sigma 50-100 f1.8. All manual focus. All very well done. Would love to see longer docu-style pieces from him. All his travels films he does for himself have a more serious, respectful tone to them.
