  1. Sorry. Nah, what I'll probably do is buy the C70 on a 0%, 1 year payoff plan (thank you B&H!) and write the camera off against the taxes for my LLC. Nothing wrong with leveraging other people's capital to grow the business. If I decide to sell it in a year or two, doesn't look like used prices are dropping fast.

  2. Casey Faris had a recent interview with Daria Fissoun going over the HDR panel that might be interesting for people who are unfamiliar with it.

  3. Walter's master class was epic ! Knew that it is a rare opportunity to get knowledge from a Company3 senior colorist for an incredible price ! But he went far beyond my expectations. 4.5 hours that changed my video editing and color grading world for ever 🙂

  4. I guess I really haven't succeeded then. The imaging pipeline is complex enough that it's difficult to understand the whole thing (which is one of the reasons why Yedlins video is an hour long) and so when you get two people both talking at length using technical language its hard to understand which one of them is correct. This challenge happens in any topic that is complex and where people have vested interests (for example, the topic of carbon dating and the implications it has for the age of the earth and the religious implications for Bible literalists). Is there something I can do to better explain why Yedlins test is valid and Tupps criticisms aren't valid? The reason I haven't backed down is because I don't want people to come away from this thread thinking it doesn't hold up, but unfortunately the more mud gets thrown at something the more that its hard to tell where the truth is.

  5. This is from a resolution test of the ARRI Alexa: Source is here: https://tech.ebu.ch/docs/tech/tech3335_s11.pdf (top of page 10) Pretty obvious that the red has significantly less resolution than the green. This is from the number of green vs red photosites on the sensor. But you're totally right - this has no impact on a test about resolution at all!

  6. I've not noticed any rolling shutter on line, in video or photo. However, I don't really like the photos that come out of it. Something is off with them, and I can't put my finger on it. I get nicer pictures with my XT3 99% of the time, and as you might expect, it's 200x more fun to take a photo with the Fuji. That said, which ever camera is in my hand will capture a moment better than the one in my bag.
