  1. Are there any other cinema cameras you could fly on a drone this size?

  2. Beautiful! Well done on filming the bees like this - I've tried and it's no easy task. Also, don't apologise for posting your own stuff, assuming it's relevant to the conversation.. It separates you from the people here who don't shoot anything and just talk about film-making without actually doing it 🙂

  3. This is a videoclip that I shot mixing the Bmpcc4k (C/Y Zeiss Primes + Speedbooster) and the Microcinema with russian 16mm Lens (Meopta Largor and Openar), both in CDNG. I also use the Microcinema as an A cam with a more modern look, like in this other videoclip, shot with speedbooster and Sigma 18-35mm (car interiors) and Tokina 11-16mm (day exteriors) I´m still learning and trying to get a more organic look from the Bmpcc4k. I have test the new Gen 5 (not in this videoclip) in Resolve 17 and I found it more pleasant than the Gen4 as most of users says but for now I´m still prefer the more organic texture of the old fairchild sensor. And sorry for my english!

    Teaser for my new doc

Hey guys, Since the middle / end of last summer I've been making a feature length documentary. I have 3 more shoots to do, and then it can be finished. However I wanted to share a small teaser I've made in anticipation of sending it out to festivals etc. I'd love to hear all feedback, comments, criticism etc. Please don't be shy! Shot entirely handheld (apart from one shot) with BMPCC4k, Viltrox speed booster and Sigma 18-35.

  5. I found 8K RAW to not be as difficult to edit as I had feared. On my Intel 8700K/RTX2070 it wasn't exactly smooth in Davinci Resolve, but absolutely doable to edit.

  6. Could you make an extra preference to flip the screen ipside down, so it's possible to mount the AFX upside down?

  7. I hoped they would have updated the design. I would have like to see an end to the 2.5" drives, especially the unnecessarily expensive and proprietary atomX drives, in favor of an m.2 enclosure. Would have a far smaller footprint and makes room for a return to dual battery slots. The unsymmetrical weight distribution bothers me. An updated 1500-2500 nit screen would be nice as well as a reduction in bezel size. Wonder how long they will remain the only game in town for ProresRAW recording.

  8. For the current TV Series I'm on, then we're using an EVA1 for 2nd Unit as their A Cam, and an EVA1 on Main Unit as D Cam. (and an AMIRA is G Cam! ha) That's me! (when I'm not working 100hr+ weeks.... but sometimes even when I am) The secret is to pre-drink 😉

  9. Wow, thank you very much Kye. This is a very good information and very well explained. In the first project that I mixed the Bmpcc4k with the Micro and the Old pocket in the same scene, I was really shocked about the video-ish texture of the Bmpcc4k, and because I had a very short time in post, I couldn´t test anything to make it more filmic. This is the scene: https://vimeo.com/manage/videos/493122238 The wide shot is the Bmpcc4k (also the insert shots) In the music video, I have used blur (I don´t remember which one) in the Bmpcc4k shots to get rid of the video digital look and also add grain (also to avoid Youtube banding in shadows and gradients). All in all, I think that the Bmpcc4k is really a great camera and it can do a lot of things, and also it can look very filmic, I wonder if the Bmpcc6k worth the upgrade or maybe I should get an old Bmpc4k if I want a S35 sensor with more filmic texture than the Bmpcc4k. I will follow your tips Kye, thank you very much!

  10. Oh yea and the fan! Of course. I’m sure it will be even louder in 8k.
