For a long time the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Cameras have been a barebones experience to shoot with. Great codec and image quality but a lack of important other features (and not great build quality). Well Blackmagic has stepped up and beaten the mirrorless cameras to build-in ND filters. Yes in 2021 it's finally happened! Well done camera industry. They have added a hinge to the screen as well. For an extra $500 you can get an EVF which slots on top. The battery also gets an upgrade from a smaller Canon LP-E6 to Sony NP-F570. However one thing I find puzzling about the Pocket 6K Pro is the lens mount. Yesterday I unexpectedly shot quite a bit with my FP and 5inch Video Assist. Man, what a combo! It's so small, and lightweight. The person I was filming told me half the time, he didn't even notice I was rolling, and of course when I put it next to my Pocket4k footage, it grades exactly the same, or possibly better. Very easy to match. I was thinking of selling the FP, because for the types of things I shoot, cDNG is just not viable (longform interviews). But then a deal for the VA12g came up, and I thought it'd give it a try. Now I'm completely sold. With this setup, I've turned a great camera that's was no fun for me to use, into a very fun, take anywhere cine-cam. My shoot yesterday was very unexpected, but I happened to have the camera in my satchel with a 28mm f2.8 FD lens. It was a dream setup, that I'm basically going to take everywhere from now on.

Skip the background music or turn it way down. It's competing with your voice, and while it might work in a quiet room you have to remember that half of the audience will listen to it while on a noisy subway or in the shower. I am looking forward to seeing future videos. You've got the technique down (short and fairly well paces), but finding interesting topics will be key to keep the audience attention.

If they are sticking with 4k (which is fine if it is downsampled from 6k), then they really need to soup it up in other ways: - Raw to SSD (hopefully BRaw or ProRes Raw) - Internal electronic ND (this would be huge) - Some nice internal codecs like ProRes - 180-240fps in 10-bit 4k - Best IBIS in the business (which the GH5 had) - Full V-Log, 13-14 stops of dynamic range - Timecode! (which I assume it will have like S1H) - Great video AF - either ToF or PDAF. Too many (not that much more expensive) full frame cameras can do 120fps in 4k, 8k, raw over HDMI, etc to just put out a solid update. Needs to be include some BIG upgrades (Raw and NDs would be very attention-grabbing). The GH5 was pretty revolutionary in its specs, but it faced no competition in the 10-bit, 4k, IBIS, XLR capture arenas when it was released. Now, not so much.

Why not a changeable mount so one could choose.

It will be there under the submenu, you'd have the option to offload it if you wish.

Well, the card itself cost 60K...

It's not even 4K. I mean hellooooooo... 2012 called and wants it's camera back!

I don't see any point in getting an Alexa ever. No IBIS and no AF... total waste of time.
