  1. Everybody loves Mr Undone. The YouTube bros line up around the block to circle jerk with handsome Gerald, but I for the life of me cannot find any of the great guru's shoots!

  2. ...to make TikTok videos. This is still going to be true when everyone has an iPhone with fake rack focusing on it. You'll still need to spend time and money to stand out. You're still going to need a crew if you want a certain standard of lighting and sound, especially one worthy of Apple TV. The competitive advantage of having a budget is arguably going to be even more important for traditional filmmaking if smart phone camera advancements lead to a flood of people producing content with a higher apparent baseline of quality. At the end of the day I don't see this technological shift as being so seismic as to so dramatically alter the course of society as you envision. In general, but especially among the younger generations, people are consuming less film content. They watch more TikTok, short clips, Twitch streams. Video is everywhere but 'fIlm' in the traditional sense is becoming less central to the culture. If the incredible advancements in affordable video technology we've already seen have lead us to the centrality of TikTok, then to me that's a sign that people just aren't itching to make 'films'.

  3. What's New? This is a brand new Natural Rec709 conversion LUT that I've created specifically for the Gen 5 Color Science as requested by fellow filmmakers. Humbled that so many put in a request after the success of the original P4K LUT and BMD OG Rec709 LUT. Thank you. LUT Features ALL NEW Kodak Vision 2 Cine Curve * softer highlight roll-off preserved shadow detail balanced saturation organic (camera) colors *Not a mathematically accurate film response curve. More an obsessive compulsive interpretation on my part based on analysis of numerous film chart data. Download Page: https://bulentfilms.yolasite.com/ (Scroll down to Blackmagic Camera LUTs)

  5. I bought V5 a week and have yet to fiddle with it in A7S3. Had V4 on my previous A73 and loved the colors! I do have a question though…probably a silly one but here goes: in S-Log 3 I can shoot incredibly clean footage in low light at 12,800 ISO. I’m curious which of these new profiles Andrew created are best in low light, and are any of them able to output clean footage at 12,800 ISO? thanks!

  6. I second above comment. There could still be short 3min videos for critizing or analyzing the state of things, short to the point, witty without bitterness. Rather than calling Undone a guru, just stayin to the fact, that the testing cirucs is a circus of silly beasts or whatever. 2 to 3min pieces, once every three monts and people would get the point across. I mean, after all consumerism is a terrifying with harms to enviroment, resources and labour conditions around the world, epecially where employees rights are weak. And, holy cow, Andrews 8bit colours from the GH2 look impressively good, better than most stuff from modern high end hybrids like A7s3 or S1H. Testament to the right shooter with the right equipment in the right state of mind.

  7. These guys pretend they don't get "paid" by Sony. But they get all the gear they want from them, newly released gear to review, lenses to test/sample, in exchange for positive reviews. They might not be told to write a positive review, but good luck getting more gear if you trash them. Sony knows who to send gear to, because they know these youtubers are desperate to continue to receive gear to review. Sony gear videos get higher views on youtube so its the brand they want to continue to pimp. So yes they might not be "paid" by sony, but by getting all this gear to test and review from sony for free, it saves the reviewers thousands of dollars. Youtubers are the new age used car salesman.

A new old lens has arrived

It's another tokina. The 35 -105 rmc zoom. No idea if it has any parentage with the tokina 28-70 atx pro or not. It's pretty much mint, the zoom is a touch tight at the close end. Took a couple of photos on sunset. There's a bit of a water theme as it rained today. If I push down on the lever over the L switch the whole fd mounting falls off from the lens
