Mandorla... I remember that: https://www.eoshd.com/creative-filmmaking/shooting-a-feature-with-the-panasonic-gh2-and-lomo-anamorphic-lenses/ Andrew doesn't need to make anything else to be the inspiration his pioneer work as influencer before many others has been for so many other people as much as Jonas Mekas I had the pleasure to personally meet was for previous generations and still is. I even think Andrew must be careful because he has a legacy to defend and this must be preserved. EAG :- )

  2. Hello, Has anybody tried the new magic lantern hack where you can shoot 14 stops of dr with the 5D III? Would love to see some video's shot with it. I always loved the 5D iii, so I might pick one back up again if it holds up. Cheers

  3. I rarely go over 800 but have done quite a few times on the 6K pro quite a few times without issue. With the dual gain iso, you just need to know which isos to stay away from

Hey Andrew, Just saw your video, and wanted to reach out and say I hear you mate. I get it. Completely. You helped give me the courage and insight years ago, way back in 2010, right?, to bust out and make a feature with a GH2 Lumix/Lomo. Total creative explosion that was, making Mandorla. You led the revolutionary charge, Commander. And one of the best times I’ve had shooting was the day we shot our anamorphic Lumix/Lomos in good ol’ Buxton! Hang in there, mate. You’ll suss this out. And everybody here will stick with you, whatever you decide! Keep us posted. Looking forward to a pint on the otherwise of this abyss!! Onward! Roberto

  5. The Z-cam has 4k 120p that is pretty darn solid as well as the option for electronic ND's and internal Prores HQ 422 at full resolution. This has built in SDI which is cool but you can't external record through the SDI so that is a bummer. At least you should be able to get a feed to an external monitor that doesn't have horrendous latency. Is the HDMI implementation here faster though? If it is that would be a big advantage. The HDMI out on both the S1H and Z-cam is very slow. Internal ND's would have made this camera a huge win, without them its kind of meh. The only advantage of the lighter weight is for drone use. Once you add a monitor you lose the weight advantage. The new Nikon camera will have internal prores RAW. If this had internal RAW and in combination with the SDI out I would buy it.

While true, it's been a tough time for all of us. I deal with depression, I have my whole life, but the last couple years, especially with the pandemic, has been brutal. I think most of us, to some extent, are feeling beaten down and exhausted. My enthusiasm and creativity certainly has taken a hit. So don't feel like you're the only one. I have faith you'll get your mojo back.

  7. Hey Andrew, Just wanted to take a second and send some good vibes your way. I know it's been a truly dark and shitty time and that often times it's unavoidable to get trapped in darker thoughts and moods, But I do know that this community is definitely a source of goodness and light (For as good as camera info can be) I've learned a ton off of threads and people here and have really enjoyed my time active on this forum. A lot of times it's easier to lurk than it is to log in and contribute, but there's still so many cool things to keep up with born out of this community. So much anamorphic knowledge, the nx1 hack, the AFX module and so many other things I wouldn't know about had it not been for this community. I love the discussions and speculations/conversations, but I also had a wonderful time with the $200 and under camera challenge. I know it's not easy to continue to find novelty and fulfillment in this world of endless revisions and new models, but I think we have a pretty good group of people active here to do that. I hope you're in a position where you can take a weekend away and clear your head or something, even if it's just some place local. Also, I really appreciate you being open and sharing with us. Be well man!!

Thanks for all the comments guys. Just the motivation I need to try and turn the ship around. I can't promise much at the moment. Hopefully I find the energy to do that. Would not like this place just whittle away to obscurity after 11 years so if I do need to change what I do in life, I would look at selling EOSHD and would never just hit a button to take it offline. The original purpose and spirit of picking up a small mirrorless camera and making films is still there today and we need to help one another on that mission.

  11. Yeah I agree about the X-T4 being ergonomically awful - I'm not sure how people pretend it isn't unless you're just using a small Fuji prime like the 35/2. Even with the vertical grip it's bad. That's why I recommended the X-S10 or X-H1. Proper grip like most other cameras, so you can actually hold the thing and not have to contort your hand and fingers awkwardly to reach the shutter button. Both the X-S10 and X-H1 will do F-Log internally, but it's 8 bit only. X-H1 can output 10-bit. X-H2 should be a killer camera. From what you want, it sounds like the X-S10 is the way to go, unless you want the 10-bit output ability of the X-H1. AF tracking will be better on the X-S10 but still inferior to the Nikons. Panasonic S5 also another option if you are *heavily* into video. That's a no brainer if you really want great video specs. No hybrid out there offers that level of features at that price. But autofocus tracking in video is terrible (it's fine for photos). The Panasonic lenses are very good too, though some are quite expensive, but the 20-60 kit lens is a real gem, as is the 85/1.8. Plus you have all the Sigma lenses available. The Panasonic S5 will definitely be the closest ergonomically to the NX1, with a lot of similar features except massively better. Panasonic's IBIS is fantastic too.
