  1. Hi guys ! At start sorry for my English. I'm first person in my city who rent a a7iv for test (Poland), Warsaw) and start talking to people about overheating problems In my opinion a7iv is good camera but have few problems which will be out soon. All reviews are wrong and they lie about test and time of long recording. I didn't have much time for all test but few my test bellow!. Please do your own test and write in comments tripod + open screen, temp set to HIGH 4k HS 200 Mbps 50fps (AF-C when nobody sitting on front of camera) Nothing bad happened and first original battery finish after 1h:34min and i change to second battery and stopped the test after 1h50min > I got a better time than stated by SONY ( +25min) I wait until camera cold down (30 min) and start another test with fresh battery tripod + open screen, temp set to HIGH 4k HS 200 Mbps 50fps (AF-C when my friend was on the front of camera for all the time and eye tracking need to work ) Camera show after 35min overheating icon and turn off in 55min > I got a worse time than stated by SONY ( -15min) * For sure the time of recording with active AF-C is less then on SONY website https://helpguide.sony.net/ilc/2110/v1/pl/contents/TP0002922662.html?fbclid=IwAR0-7-VTkXG6ENh9aArqD8eGcJccNib5I7KEBP_Avchury7Z2dl_BijEKvM **I'm afraid it will much worse in summer when we gonna run and gun with AF-C and IBIS. Hand-held will accelerate heating issue (what do you think ?) POWER USB DON'T WORK CORRECTLY TEST 1 POWER USB tripod + open screen, temp set to HIGH 4k HS 200 Mbps, 50fps record 25min and turn off (overheating) (AF-C when my friend was on the front of camera for all the time and eye tracking need to work ) > I got a worse time than stated by SONY ( -45 min) !!! * Time between POWER USB 30 min and always fresh original battery TEST 2 POWER USB tripod + open screen, temp set to HIGH (AF-C when my friend was on the front of camera for all the time and eye tracking need to work ) 4k HS 100 Mbps, 50pfs record 17min and turn off (overheating) > the shortest time I got. I have problem with my a7iv or SONY screwed up * Time between POWER USB 30 min and always fresh original battery TEST 3 POWER USB tripod + open screen, temp set to HIGH (this time i check manual focus MF) 4k HS 100 Mbps, 50fps record 17min and turn off (overheating) > I got a worse time than stated by SONY ( -105 min) !!! The same setting like above but without POWER USB , and on AF-C, (fresh battery) tripod + open screen, temp set to HIGH 4k HS 100 Mbps, 50fps record 1h 30 min. and turn off (overheating) (AF-C when my friend was on the front of camera for all the time and eye tracking need to work ) > I got a worse time than stated by SONY ( -50 min) !!! But after 5 min cold down and changing battery he record again 1h and sd card v90 finish. >>>My conclusions and thoughts<<< 1) All tests carried out by YouTubers are wrong. They record record the wall (item) not human (AF-C and eye tracking) , so should should not be taken seriously. ( You know $$$) 2) Generally, the shooting times of 4k 200 Mbps where the AF-C really needs to work are below the guaranteed times. 3) The shooting times 4k HS 100 Mbps, 50fps where the AF-C really needs to work are HIGHLY below the guaranteed times. 4) USB POWER DON'T WORK CORRECTLY 5) I believe that the results of shooting by handhald may be even worse because there will be a problem with the cooling of the a7iv in the hands 6) I believe that the situation with the overheating of the a7iv in the summer could be much worse and we need to have that in the mind before buy. So far, I cannot perform any more tests and I would like to remind you that such results can only occur with me! However, I will be pleased to know your results, provided that you do not record the wall and you do not work for SONY. XAVC HS 4K 200 Mbps 50fps - record 55min (tripod, af-c) (sony write 1 h 10 min) XAVC HS 4K 100 Mbps 50fps - record 1h30min (tripod, af-c) (sony write 2 h 20 min) USB POWER - max 25 min record Is it ok and worth buying? Is it better to wait and see how the situation unfolds? I leave it to you, but one thing is for sure, the Internet reviews sucks and you shouldn't trust the reviews and read the comments with caution and an open mind. .

  2. As usual in recent years I have been making a Christmas video for the police force where I work. This year with more sense of humor, parodying Breaking Bad. No professional, all who appear are police officers. GH5S + Sirui Anamorphic 35mm. Hope you like it.

  3. If you scroll up you will see that @Geoffrey stated he was struggling with AF and asked for tips on preventing the pulsing, all I did was state that I use MF for focusing and list the challenges I have with it and adapted lenses. The challenges with Panasonic's DFD focusing system are well known so I don't bother bringing it up but if someone asks for how others are working around it, I have no problems sharing. The camera is not perfect but it's as close to it for me as anything currently on the market so I just work within its limitations. I have mine set up to shoot everything I need, and it does that so complaining would be pointless.

  4. @PannySVHS you're right and those 5 minutes just to include any further edit are short for the sake of our communication too! : ) BTW loved those flares and the suitable creative editing from, that sounds beyond the skilled professional TBH ; ) so here's re-posted with my kudos: :- )

  5. As usual, Malaga is lucky for such talented filmmaker(s) at their local police department indeed : ) Nice American RV as prop/décor and such outcome as Christmas short film goes accordingly ;- )

  6. I 2nd the 2 above - Wandering DP and Epic Light Media. The Aputure youtube channel have a lot of good tutorials and "Gaffer and Gear" has some fantastic info on lighting too. Also - probably even more importantly if you're trying to make a living out of it - research SEO (particularly local SEO). Having an effective website that actually generates leads is far more important for making a living than knowing how to shoot like Daniel Schiffer, or how many Skypanels were used on the latest Audi commercial.
