  1. Hi, I know this forum has been quiet for a long time, but I did not want to miss the opportunity to share this teaser of my next movie. All shot on a GH5 using GHalex. This film began to be filmed in the middle of the pandemic, and now it is in post production to be released in 2022. I cannot help but thank @Sage for his work in creating this color matrix that has made my life easier. Cheers!

Look great! I think the lighting and colour is particularly good. In fact, it doesn't look like video at all, which is something that very few people are able to do these days, even if they're trying to make something cinematic.

  5. Well I use an S1H as my A cam and a ZV1 for my static longer form stuff, so an even smaller, simpler and cheaper solution. However, I don’t mix the footage but use it for a separate purpose. I picked it up to replace my previous same 1 inch sensor camcorder that had been my workhorse for the same purpose for the previous 5+ years, sacrificing the much longer zoom lens (didn’t need anyway) for the tiny size and better AF. I think the only way you are going to know if it will work for you however is to try one and see? I tried my S5 in this role for all of this years 6 jobs (should have been 30 so fuck you Covid, but that’s another matter) with the ZV1 mounted on the hotshoe to capture the same scene. Used the ZV1 footage only on each occasion. The Pros: Smaller, lighter, cheaper, very good 4K 25p footage, excellent AF, no recording limit and can be powered off a power bank whilst recording. The ‘Cons’: The footage is not as malleable as it is with the majority of cameras as it is ultimately a 1 inch sensor, but you are looking at it’s newer and slightly larger sensor brother so… I think as tempted to change myself to the ZV E10 but then asked myself why? I can’t find enough reason to upgrade but if I was starting from scratch I’d probably go ZV E10.

  6. I suspected that but I never actually checked if the color space was wider in a nle software. Thanks!

  8. I have been thinking about renting it as well just to make sure it isn't for me. I have really studied the handheld footage from the C70 on YouTube and it always seems to have this jittery look no matter what they did; even basic standing still panning and tilting movements seemed to have this slight jitter that just isn't present in cameras with IBIS. Maybe they just have bad hand holding technique but I can't be sure. For me, running back and fourth between photography and video systems at events, there's no way I have time for a gimbal let alone a tripod so handheld performance is key for me to replace the S5. On a gimbal, tripod, monopod, etc. of course it looks fine, and of course slow motion footage looks fine, but that jittery look really bothers me. Maybe I am just looking too hard for it, but lack of IBIS is really my main show stopper. Maybe if I rent it and try it for myself I'll see that I've been overthinking it. I did consider the R3 when it was announced, but a lot of the price comes from making the sensor readout so fast and since I don't shoot sports or fast action, I would be paying a premium for a camera that is still lacking WFM, False Color, ND filters, needs a separate XLR adapter, etc. Canon continues to excel at ensuring their market segmentation stays in place and their cripple hammer never rests.

  9. By the way, I don't have any with it from the GX85 but I do have these from the OG Pocket. The extra reach and, particularly, the IS won't do you any harm with it on your BM cameras as a single lens solution for travelling. Although the extra crop of the BM cameras means that the wide end can make it a bit more challenging at times.

  10. I rarely shoot music videos but I made one for a friend a couple of months before the pandemic. Shot with GH5, with Pana/Leica 15mm 1.7, 25mm 1.4 and 42,5 Nocticron. And two Aputure HR 672s. No pre-production, no storyboard, It's was all improvised, a very stressful couple of hours so bear with me 🙂 I used Emotive color v3 when editing.
