    Best drone buy 2022

I'm very happy with my Mavic Mini 2. The only thing that would tempt me to upgrade would be a 10 bit log option, or an adjustable aperture, or both (!) in a <250g drone.

    Sigma FP

In the absence of a single thread about the FP, I'll post this here. There is some new content here that I haven't heard before, including references to tests that the FP has more accurate colour than the Sony Venice. For people interested in very high quality images (and uncompressed RAW) this might be of interest. Much more life in this camera yet I think.

    Grading S1H log footage

Yes I agree. Though when talking cinematography that video speaks to what I was saying. The beach shots in that video are so beautiful they make a cinematographers job easy.

  4. I have seen dozen examples of footage posts within threads leading to fuitful discussions. I myself posted couple times screenshots and videos with great communicaiton following. Points of discussion also depend on questions asked by the posters of footage. How you like it, what do you like in the lighting, let me tell you about the diy tricks, etc.

  5. Well, this might help you out a bit for your movie Andrew.

  6. On the other hand, just as I can make any expensive guitar sound bad, I can also make any beautiful beach look like a trash dump. I'm an expert in ugly. 😞

  7. Kinefinity has an E-ND in their latest camera. I am hoping to see that from other companies soon.

  8. ticoraw can support non-bayer CFA sensors too (X-trans too?) unlike prores raw compression ratios offered @12bit are 6:1 and 12:1. Intopix has nothing to lose unlike RED, rather they will gain more if they expand their services to all other camera companies. My prediction is the days of ATOMOS and RED willl be over soon. Cinema cameras will be less enthusiastic and more hybrid versions will pop up from every camera company. RED trying auto-focus, and partnering with canon for RF mount seems like they understood they are losing their checkpoint (compressed raw codec). i feel there are 2 bottlenecks for a camera to be more cinema /video oriented - 1)Electronic nd filter- the patent of forza silicon which has expired recently. 2) Compressed raw codec- novel compression techniques like jpeg-xs tico raw are circumventing around RED's patents. seems like clear path for the future for hybrid photo- cinema cameras. If brands like Kinefinity, blackmagic, Zcam don't focus on auto-focus, an already shrinking camera market can hit them hard.

  9. And it´s alway amazing to see what´s done with funky 8bit hd photocams. It´s also an important decision between monochromatic and black and white. Unfortunately sometimes people I worked with don´t recognize that and go for bw right away. Even on no budget projects cinematographers and their know how and especially ART is not recognized by the directors. Anyway, here is an example of beautiful 8bit cinematopgraphy and 420 glory in monchromatisitc awesomeness.

  10. You seek collaboration but some may hesitate in case they also become thought of as "fucking unbearable". It's apparent that you are not fond of criticism, but in the sense of true collaboration (especially within the arts) you will need to become accustomed to it or your project is doomed from the outset.

    Best drone buy 2022

i think the best drone is the one i already have... i cant really justify the expense of new equipment every year.

  12. Lets not be too hasty. I think this idea probably warrants a ten page thread of attrition about what codec you are going to use before you put pen to paper.

  14. Already said that it here, but repeating myself - this single video made my buy a GH2. 🙂 Awesome colors until today (except, maybe, the greenish skintones, a trademark for Panasonic until the GH5). Noisy by the current standards, but these colors...

  15. That's a great! I'm happy for you. I've never had that camera, but I've watched a lot of footage. I usually never see them under 600 euros here and I've always said that if I really wanted a Blackmagic, I'd go for a used Pocket 4k as they only go for about 200 more. Like the GH2, the BMMPC camera is iconic. I end up hanging on to stuff like that because I'm a sucker for that stuff. I still have my 60 Euro special GH2 as a backup live-stream camera for my English classes.
