The two new X-H cameras both use Sony Semicon sensors, they incoporate some of the latest technology from IMX610 (A1) including DBI and Sigma-Delta ADC.3 points -

I'd wait for the firmware update with the Prores for the 4K and 1080p modes. They rushed Prores implementation on everything but the full resolution to get it out the door, so might have rushed the other aspects of the other resolutions too perhaps. To me the GH6 is like the GH5 was for ages - half baked. Drawing any conclusions on the camera at this point, considering Panasonics track record with these things would really say more about the reviewer than it would about the camera. ... and in reference to the video clip that everyone hated the grade on, if you're going to criticise a camera for what one person does with it, well, may as well just poke your own eyes out with a fork because you'll never see images from a camera that you'll like. That video looked incredibly good compared to some footage I've seen shot with an Alexa!2 points -
What about A7700 or some sort Sony apc-s flagship camera?
Juank reacted to Mark Romero 2 for a topic
I agree with @webrunner5 that aps-c cameras for sony are kind of at a dead end (at least until the whole supply situation clears up, which should be around 2035 or so, if we are lucky). I have been waiting for a Sony aps-c mirrorless camera with 10-bit video since about four years ago. I got so tired of waiting I got the Panasonic S1 and S5 instead.1 point -
Fuji XH-2/S

The ‘problem’ with Fuji…for me anyway, was they brought out the XH1 which at the time (and still is in several regards) was a great camera. It was intended as their slightly video-centric but also more robust ‘pro’ platform. And then immediately trumped it for video spec, with the XT3. But no IBIS. Pissed off a lot of Fujistas at the time, many of whom (like me) wanted the XT3 spec in the XH1 body. They then brought out an XT4 and went flippy screen which delighted the YooToobers, but didn’t please so much others. Like me. And other than their cinema lenses and a couple of more recent primes, not much for the videographer. Much as I love them, I don’t think they really have a ‘pro’ line but are more ‘serious amateur’? The bottom line for me is yes, they kind of stagnated for a bit but I think they are probably going to pop something out a bit more ‘pro’ with the XH2. Perhaps not ‘fully pro’ like say an SH1 or Canon R5c, but close the gap between ‘serious amateur’ and ‘pro’. I don’t really like the labels/terms I have used, but I think you’ll know what I mean. Purely my personal opinion of course!1 point -

Olympus and Panasonic top end cameras seemed to always have about 10 firmware updates on them. Not sure if that is a good thing or a rushed bad thing in the beginning? Probably a little bit of both I would guess. Part of it is they seem to take for EVER to come out with a new model as of late.1 point -

Thank you for your reply. You can order it from small rig. They can reproduce it. Just email them and you receive a offer (~200$) with a special url to their shop.1 point -

I found it! It's the "video stills comparison tool". However, they didn't test HD modes on the GH6 😞 Regardless, you can see how GH6 4k is indeed more detailed and less sharpened than GH5. But you can also see how ghastly 1080p is on the S series cameras (except for the S1H) so for me it's still unconfirmed about GH6 1080p video quality. And I like 1080p an awful lot because of the advantages of smaller file sizes and smoother editing.1 point -
nikon z6ii: should I move to BMPCC 6k?
gethin reacted to webrunner5 for a topic
Yeah, using a Blackmagic product, which I am a huge fan of, is like going back 10 years ago. Hardly Run N Gun, output wise darn good, ergonomics wise not so hot.1 point -
..If you don't like noisy footage, 6K Pro will be a step backwards in that regard for anything above base iso. You'll not only be losing AF but also IBIS. Also keep in mind EF mount means very little lens adapting choice. Finally be prepared for massive file storage requirements. Now don't get me wrong I love BMD IQ and the 6K Pro is great value but switching to it from a hybrid mirrorless system is a much bigger transition than just losing AF imho.1 point

nikon z6ii: should I move to BMPCC 6k?
gethin reacted to Martin Kuipers for a topic
I would base my choice on the type of video’s you make. If its fast output and events that are run and gun, I’ll opt for the convenience of the z6ii. Battery live, autofocus and a color profile to get it right in camera (so forget 10 bit). Either flat or portrait with some adjustments will do. The hassle of external recording and diminishing results is what’s frustrating to you, so use the z6 to its strengths. If you have a bit more control and pre production of the shooting day, the bmpcc would be my choice.1 point -

I couldn't find it. However its always possible to get moire with 8k resolution. Modern lenses out resolve sensors, even at 100 megapixels. If you want zero occurrence of moire you have to stay in aperture range that diffraction happens, or simply use a softer lens.1 point -

Looks like Nikon is gunning to retake back the throne as top dog of the DSLR/Mirrorless Cameras for filmmaking with. That is a killer list of features they're adding for the Z9 Firmware 2.0 Nikon is even bringing out a Remote Grip for shooting with! Having access to all those features at your fingertips will be super useful for people who are shooting with the camera mounted on their shoulder (such as you'd do with a Sony FS7/FX9, and the Nikon MC-N10 Remote Grip is kinda-ish like the FS7 removable grip) https://www.newsshooter.com/2022/04/14/nikon-mc-n10-remote-grip/ Now all we need is for Nikon to develop a Nikon F to Z adapter with an integrated eND filter!1 point -
Canon 1DC - Ninja V HDMI issues
Matthias Scheja reacted to Simon2022 for a topic
The SmallRig cage for the 1DC etc is now discontinued and not available new. I did manage to pick one up secondhand from eBay in good condition. The cage is a pretty good fit and I 3D printed a support for the HDMI cable that screws onto the rig. I do have the original cable support but can't figure our how it clips into the body, it seems way too tight. The Ninja isn't too heavy for the hotshoe, it maybe a problem if the Ninja gets knocked and all the impact gets transferred to the hotshoe though.1 point -

Some of the high-end Canon flash units are surprisingly heavy and large. So, I think it would be ok, but sure a cage is always a safer bet.1 point
