  1. As I say, the Cinelike D definitely works as I did it on mine a few years ago. I also used an old school Sony camcorder TC on it which is a good option to extend the range. I put it on a magnetic filter adapter for easy on/off. Top is internal wide, middle is internal long and bottom is internal long with the TC so you get quite the range for minimal extra carry. The LX10/15 gets overlooked because of the ubiquity of the Sony RX100 range but its a great performer and far cheaper, particularly, as you can testify, as a used option.

  2. The problem with the L mount alliance (aside from the clearly reluctant Leica not fully playing ball over compatibility of adapters) is that Sigma have created a really comprehensive set of high quality affordable lenses for it and not put OIS on any of them, aside from the long telephoto. Its annoying as I have Leica full frame and APS-C cameras that could really have benefited from it but the most obvious beneficiary would have been my FP. Thats what makes it bewildering really as Sigma would have took away a big objection about their own camera had they put OIS in any if these lenses. As the junior partner, I suspect they might have been blocked by the other two.

  3. I ordered an 'as new' silver TL2 for just over 900 euros. I did look long and hard at the CL and have done on and off for the last few years, but in the end decided I wouldn't use the viewfinder anyway and so the bigger 3.7" rear LCD of the TL2 would suit me better. 1/4000th vs 1/8000th mech shutter doesn't bother me either. Should be here in a couple of days and I plan to use it at my next wedding as I once did the original X100 when it first came out and that is as a discrete candid option when I don't wish to be sticking my S1R in their faces. The very first time I used it, I fell in love with using the X100 like this next to my big Nikon D3S's...until the battery ran out by the end of bride prep. I'm going for the same thing 11 years on. 20mm f2 Sigma to work like a '30' and 65mm f2 for the long stuff my 28-70mm on the S1R can't reach without resorting to crop mode itself. If it only ever gets used for these 2 jobs, it will have served it's purpose, but as I have the Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 crop lens, I will probably just stick that on it it as a walkabout 27-75 because I hate the Sony ZV1 I have for stills. Should be fun if nothing else, but actually I will expect it to earn it's keep. Yep, would rather have an FP-L, but double the budget and can't find one and I have a stills only wedding next week that would be perfect to try the TL2. Ultimately, I'll probably just hold out until Panny either releases a rangefinderesque full frame ILC, or the next gen Sigma FP. Or something else entirely, but I hope one of the two come out with something in the next 12 months. I can wait...

  5. Still no footage from my F3. So it has to be coming from others.:) Love the creamyness and resolution of it. @Josue Nunez would you mind posting some clips in motion if you are allowed to? That would be awesome!

  6. Holy crap, donΒ΄t scare me! @webrunner5 I just discoverd my all time favorite colour palette on the EOS M, which I just posted. Now you come up with even cooler news. I have not been a great fan of the colours from the videos on youtube so far. Only the one I discovered gave me wowsers. Until then the videos always had postpro with very crayon and videoish results. Technically nice but not painterly with thick oils. Now let me check that video with a coffee and some cake. πŸ™‚

  8. I'm away at the moment so can't test it for a week or so but it would be worth having a go with an extract from the FZ2000 file formats as there is a possibility that the 100mbit HD will work or you might hit the jackpot and get the 200mbit.

  11. Speaking of EOS M, Zeek says they have a new build out that is pretty dope.

  12. Still got a "great" VariND that turned my FD 35mm F2 into a focus pulling nightmare due to its glowyness. @kye Anyway, I got a challenger now, if a fixed lens Super 16 4K machine counts. I think it does. If a LX100 would qualify I think a LX15 should just as well. So here it goes, I got not only one of them but two for the used price of half a camera. Now take a guess πŸ™‚ Here is some fun clip I did with it. Now, if a hack would give me 100mbit HD with it, then we would be talking! 28mm 1.4 eq lens! Which turns into 36mm eq in 4K crop.:)

  14. Please delete my previous post. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Z9. If it wasn't for physical size, it would be my favorite mirrorless camera ever. I hope some of the video features will make it's way to the new generation of Nikon bodies. All I want is internal ProRes HQ.

  15. I thought this was interesting: One significant point he makes is that because DR hasn't got any new huge headline features that they'll spend time consolidating what they have, making more incremental improvements, and that it's a sign that the package is maturing. To be clear, for anyone that isn't familiar with Resolve, in the last 5 or so years when they make a huge upgrade it's on a level that is completely beyond what the other NLE's would ever do - one year they added an editor, another year they added Fusion, another year they added Fairlight, etc. Think of Resolve as more like the entire Adobe video suite but just in tabs πŸ™‚ However..... Resolve 18 is not what I was hinting at for this thread. The rumour is that they'll drop a new camera on the first day of the show. Which is still in a few days time.

I shot a short film yesterday and used the Canon 35mm f/2 for a few shots. What a great utility prime with IS. Here are a few shots with a quick LUT thrown on. The film may end up being in B&W.

    Fuji XH-2/S

The two new X-H cameras both use Sony Semicon sensors, they incoporate some of the latest technology from IMX610 (A1) including DBI and Sigma-Delta ADC.
