    Help needed...

You can do it in Adobe Bridge very easily. Sort by date created, select all, then batch rename.

  2. I watched this video recently, which I thought was quite enlightening.. One thing it mentioned was that advertising / media / marketing deliberately do things that will filter out unwanted people from the pipeline: spam makes copious amounts of spelling errors as they don't want to waste time trying to con educated people get rich quick types are deliberately assholes so that they can sell to people who care about money more than people etc..

  3. I am Co-Producer of two feature films I am trying to place them on the film festivals circuit in Europe right now. One of them (shot on Pochet 6K) was selected (for official competition) this week. I won't write here what cameras were used for the other one... but one thing I can assure you: there have been feature films shot on ARRI and RED cameras beaten by our precious Pocket series footage FYI :- )

    Help needed...

...or perhaps I'm just being a bit stoopid, but hit something I have never come across previously. Last week, I decided to shoot a couple of jobs back to back on 2 identical cameras. Nothing odd about that and normally, using a piece of software called Photomechanic, I sort pics (stills) into time order as both cameras are in sync in that regard. Then I just rename them whilst they are in that order and go from there. But video clips, from 2 different cameras, never tried that before and the best I seem to be able to get is date order? Well that's useless as it has clips from Set A in time order, but then all the clips from Set B are below in time order, ie, in 2 different blocks...but I want them in the same folder, mixed up into time order. I use Premiere to edit and can't see an option to display all files in the Media Browser in time order? Googled it etc but not come up with the answer... The answer would be appreciated, even if it means sorting the footage in another piece of software prior to Premiere. But no, I am not ditching Premiere and changing editing software mid-season! Thanks in advance.

    Nokia PureView 808

I have had several, none now. I can't afford a lens for one anymore. I had a Leica M Monochrom one once, loved it. I guess that is close to a M9 time wise. I think it might be the best Leica ever made to be honest.

    Nokia PureView 808

I sold my 808 a few years ago, along with my Sigma DP1. In their day they were pretty great, but now well not so hot. But each had a unique look to them, so yeah, they would be worth brining out and using them for some funky looking stuff.

How/where do I do a batch rename? In 'File Explorer' (Windows), I can get them in order, but go to rename and it only allows me to individually rename each even if I have the whole lot selected? I'm missing something here... It's probably really obvious but like so many really obvious things, not actually that obvious until you know how/where!

Hey don't dare you man, you're truly missed! : ) Everyone here has thought the same as our good fellow wrote up there, they always intend to seem legit but they are just a pain in the ass : ( On the rest of the quote, you're in good shape as always ;- )

  10. It was an absolute beast of a sensor. Was almost as big as your motorhome 🙂 I still have my 808 somewhere. Might get it out and see if it will do 8K 24fps 😆

    Panasonic GH6

The GH5 has a bug in V-Log where the meter doesn't work properly. The base ISO of the GH5 is 200 and in V-Log it's 400. Most camera sensors clip at about four stops above middle grey. Log profiles work by deliberately underexposing the image to give more stops in the highlights, and then brightening the image so that it looks correctly exposed. So when you shoot in V-Log at ISO 400 the camera is actually shooting at the ISO 200 level. However, the meter (incorrectly) continues to show the exposure value for 200 ISO. You can verify this by switching from V-Log to a standard profile. The meter reading will change by one stop. So one stop over on the GH5's meter in V-Log is actually the correct exposure. The GH6 has fixed this problem. The clip you uploaded is perfectly usable. I would say that it's about one stop overexposed, but because no highlights are clipping then no information is lost. It's a good example of ETTR technique. As shot -1 stop in post -1 stop in post with Panasonic lut applied. In my view the Panasonic lut is too dark. Middle grey (code value 422) stays at 422, whereas it really should be at around 494 which is middle grey in Rec709. -1 stop in post with my Kodak Portra lut applied. My lut preserves the correct value for middle grey.

yeah earlier this year I worked on a feature film shot on an ARRI Mini, but the snorricam rig was using a BMD Pocket Likewise Cowboy Bebop (NZ's biggest ever Netflix production) used Pockets for a stunts day I mixed.

  14. There's a really 'funny' video ad on YouTube right now where the guy suddenly stops speaking (visually) but continues to talk...because of course it's an AI voice. Claims 98% of people wouldn't notice. Officially then, 98% of the planet are a bit stoopid. This. Is. An. Artificially. Generated. Voice. It. Is. Impossible. To. Tell. Though. As. It. Is. Exactly. The. Same. As. How. I. Speak. In. Real. Life.

    Best drone buy 2022

My point was that all the paper specs don't mean anything if the drone won't take off every time you need it to. I live in an area surrounded by airports, and I had nothing but problems flying DJI drones due to geofencing. So for me today, the best drone on the market for what I need is the Autel EVO II 6K. Sure on paper the latest DJI drones have better camera specs, but I am shooting commercial drone jobs nearly daily with the EVO II so it is the best drone to me. When it comes to drones and cameras in general, it is the whole ecosystem that makes one platform a better fit for your work flow vs another; paper specs are only a small part of it. Pretty much any modern drone or camera is overkill for most people, its the rest of the story that makes a difference.

  19. Did it win, though? Apparently Red settled with Sony after Sony counter sued for infringement. And Apple's case was dismissed for what looks, at least partially, like procedural reasons (basically due to incompleteness -- the decision uses the word "unclear" multiple times in relation to Apple's rationale and says literally "In sum, Petitioner’s obviousness challenge is unclear and incomplete"). That is, Apple lost, but it is not clear if the patent won.

  20. I saw that tweet back when Andrew posted it, bravo on entering into a whole new world! Not sure if it is a path I'd personally take though (but then again, I don't know how much of a steal he got it for?? And a certain point you just can't say no!). As I keep an eye on RED prices now and then. RED ONEs have for a while now been ultra affordable, but they're such extremely heavy beasts! (and suck up power & media) That's why all those years ago I went with a Sony PMW-F3 instead, as my personal experiences with RED ONE meant I didn't want one myself. RED Scarlet MX have finally got to the point they're ultra cheap too, but they're a bit too crippled vs an Epic. Plus the MX sensor is so old. (who wants to go back to always shooting at 800 ISO? And never going higher. Not me. And arguably you should even still shoot 320 ISO, if you want a cleaner image, say if you doing green screen) Thus I feel you have to look at the bare minimum of an DSMC1 Epic Dragon (or newer) But you could buy a brand new Sony FX6 / Canon C70 for that price! Or an URSA Mini 12K. Or if looking at secondhand, a Sony F55 or original ALEXA. Or a Panasonic Varicam LT / Canon C300 mk3 is also in the same ballpark. And if you start looking at the more recent REDs than that (DSMC2 bodies), you're then reaching into ballpark price territory for an AMIRA, or Sony FX9, or Canon C500mk2. Is a personal preference thing, but I'd happily take any of those other alternatives instead.

But didn’t they said it is customised for a specific company not for consumer product? Plus the size of phantom 5 is too big to travel, mavic strike the perfect balance of travel and doesn’t look like toy compare to mavic air

This seems to be shaping up to a dream drone - basically the best of the P4 pro combined with the best of a Mavic
