  1. I don't have enough experience with mini to really say for sure as most cameras either go micro or full. Honestly micro should just be banned 😅

  2. Agreed, if we can't have SDI or full-size HDMI, mini HDMI is the preferred option. I work with a Panasonic G7 and 2 Panasonic FZ1000s for a live-stream setup. The micro HDMI is just so fragile, i have the full-HDMI smallrig cage bolt on the FZ1000s. The G7 as with you, is double-clamped. And I just never ever touch the micro HDMI. I notice mini HDMI, while not perfect and i still get a bit nervous, is 1000 times better than micro HDMI. Honestly as long as you are careful and only run short cables to monitors i don't even think you need a clamp.

  3. I keep both of mine rigged, only taking out the hdmi from the Atomos’s hdmi port during transport. I feel confident with the port protection that the SmallRig cage provides.

  4. The album approach is a tricky one these days Kye as I serve the destination wedding market and successful sales regarding this kind of thing are done at 2 stages: Prior to and after the event. In person. That opportunity was lost to me the moment I moved out of the UK to France. For UK weddings with UK clients, the album included approach worked very well. I replaced it with the hybrid multi-day coverage approach instead and this season for instance, only 1 of 33 did not have video in addition to stills and only 4 couples have had single day coverage. I do provide a tangible element and tick that box, but not with anything they are expecting or included in the package, but a surprise bonus delivered direct to their door. First year I have done this so we’ll see where it goes… Re. the tech. Oh I am interested, but interested as you say as in what it can do for me rather than tech for tech sake, ie, any upgrades or purchases I make are for very considered purposes. The reality doesn’t always work out but it mostly does. 8k for 8k sake does not interest me for instance. Providing productions in 8k most definitely not unless a client says can you deliver me in 8k and I’ll book you…but no one even asks for 4K or even mentions resolution. Ever. I am not even interested in it for cropping sake. I’d rather select the right focal length and composition in the first place. I am interested in it for pulling off stills however and at some point, this might be my future direction as in stop shooting stills altogether and just focus on the video capture knowing those moments are there. But a subject to be explored when my 8k camera turns up…

    Who has a 10-bit display 2022

@kaylee I didn't think that I did, but maybe I do. I have a Dell Ultrasharp and the manual lists it as a 10-bit panel, but it doesn't describe it in such a way that makes me absolutely positive that it's a 10-bit image pipeline. I know that I am driving it with a 10-bit signal from my BM video output device, and Resolve supports the 10-bit output. Why do you ask? I'm happy to have a look at my setup if there's any questions you're curious about? IIRC Resolve lets me choose things like the bit depth of the signal out to the monitor, so I think I can change that easily enough. I have a vague memory of swapping between 8-bit and 10-bit but don't recall if I saw differences.

  6. Very good topic ! I try more than one year to find a solution to unlock Z6 ProRes Raw without success. I contact Simeon Pilgrim last year about video 1 (DIY add RAW) and he confirmed me that way it is inspire by his PTP Tool method. The hypothesis of HDMIRAW.KEY on card with specific code looks credible ( I read this info on two different forum). I try to reproduce the video 1 with PTP tools and 3.40 z6 firmware. But nothing is producing when I add the four lines on NikonDump / Program.cs . Maybe HDMIRAW.KEY is need... Maybe Nikon will be inspire by Atomos for unlocking options remotely on theses old cameras in firmware.... It is very an old age to send the materiel to a nikon service center, with the risk, the price and the immobilisation of material. Finger crossing !

  7. I technically do, since all the new OLEDs are 10-bit displays
