  1. There's a time and a place for everything, right? For instance, my family just got word that my 20 year old nephew has Hodgkin's--Anyone telling my family they can't "discern" things, for whatever reason, would be rather unwelcome. Please, let's all try to be kind, empathetic, and aware.

  4. Lol I know your being cynical but I think (or at least hope) most people are aware that S35 is the cinema standard!

  5. The FX30, which, as a crop sensor, is mathematically incapable of shallow DoF, cinematic images, or going viral on TikTok. I know those things are true - I read them on the internet.

  6. Cancer has literally taken away everyone I have ever loved the most. First it took my Grammy, then it took my Papa, then it took my Mom, and earlier this year it took one of my pups. To say that I hate it with all of my heart would be an understatement. Hearing how many people talk about how it has impacted them breaks my heart. I hope I'm alive to see the day when we finally beat this disease. It won't bring our loved ones back, but if it'll make sure no one has to feel how the way I did holding my Mom's hands as she slowly

  7. The thing is, in any film that's meant to take place in a post apocalyptic environment, that environment is like another character ESPECIALLY when it's something as iconic as Las Vegas. You really kind of squander that though when it's all just a blur in the background of every shot. I found it obnoxious, and felt that it hurt the film. It's also one of the few times I've seen normal people notice shallow depth of field (though they didn't use that terminology) and talk about it.

    Fuji X-H2 in the house

Yes it does ProRes HQ 1080p The bitrates for ProRes are variable so maybe Fuji are stating the maximum values? This seems to imply an average bitrate of 328Mbit for UHD ProRes LT https://blog.frame.io/2017/02/13/compare-50-intermediate-codecs/ Whereas Fuji say 435Mbit https://fujifilm-x.com/en-us/products/cameras/x-h2/specifications/ Will be interesting to see how close ProRes brings Fuji to the look of a Blackmagic camera. As I always considered a really chunky ProRes codec the missing link between cine and mirrorless cameras. Also will be interesting to look at smaller H.265 file sizes in 8K and compare to the oversampled 4K ProRes.

  12. Bleh. I find no pleasure in shooting with my phone. It's just there to register. Besides, holding the phone to take a picture or shoot video doesn't look cool :p A dedicated camera or videocamera requieres more work, yes, but there's an artisan's process that offers "something" that's not just there with the phone. The technical aspect of our job can be spiritually rewarding.

  13. Ciao Andrew, this news really touched me a lot, believe me it really makes me angry to hear about cancer at a young age. I'm very sorry. I'm sure you won't like what I'm about to say, feel free to insult me or kick me out of this forum . What i am about to say doesn't fit your beliefs and many others here. Many people are dying during this time for cancer and heart diseases. Many of these die because of the Covid vaccine, all this obviously is hidden by the politics ,media and especially by doctors. I understand that this is unacceptable and that not everyone has the means to discern this type of information. Did your sister get the vaccines? If I were you I would dig it more on this topic.
