  1. Hi all, have attached a chart that sums up my essay about the fps ISO behaviour. Concentrated only on the native ISO circuits instead of the ones with further analogue gain, which I would not recommend using. Rating of the native ISO value for the 1st circuit are per my definition in accordance to the 2nd circuit stops distribution. The chart is valid for RAW (CINE) recordings of the Sigma fp. If you decide to go through the ARRI Rec709 LUT, than you should consider using the fp in the bluely highlighted ISO range to get the rolloff.

  2. Just curious. I totally understand wanting specific aspects of a camera to be a certain way and it’s cool to have discussions about it, but do we buy cameras to nitpick at the specs or shoot images? After a while it all becomes negligible. I can’t believe I’ve become the person to say this because I too was “geeking” over camera specs. After years of shooting I come to just use and appreciate the tool. Use the tools that suits your needs.

  3. The older S Series cameras and GH5II and BGH1 are the only Lumix cameras with 0 sharpening in V-Log (L). The GH6 and now S5II look much worse again in that regard.

  4. From what I’ve heard the GH5 II can have sharpening completely disabled, unlike most Panasonic cameras.

  5. Talking about softness with the S5, I am happy to show some images from my stay in italy at a local chestnut and wine fest (chestnuts 1 Euro, Plastic Cup of loca wine 1 Euro) which I shot with the S1 (same settings as S5) and the minolta 50mm 1.4. I focused only by hand, not perfectly, and I believe I had the ISO at 3200 even. The noise together with some extra grain & softness is quite pleasing I think. Would not throw away the footage! 😄
