Have no idea and I wager most owners don't either, lol - just get an FX-Lion Nano One (or Nano Two) or the Smallrig VB50 or VB99. But this guy does great analysis of the R5C and says Canon has not given any official details about the exact requirements (he discusses all this in the second chapter of this video) - so basically it seems like we just know what works and what doesn't:

Thanks although some of those solutions don't seem available any longer (anker 45w power bank). Again what are the exact 8K60p power requirements? I know we've discussed this earlier in the thread but I don't feel like going through +35 pages lol. As for the Z8, it is great that it can power 8K60p from its internal battery but yeah I've seen some 8K tests getting the camera to overheat in 10mn which is a concern. Other test show 25mn. I think the Z9 doesn't overheat and with second hand prices being around what a Z8 costs I think Z9 might be actually be a better choice if you don't mind the weight too much.

  4. As others have stated the AI/computational stuff you get from phones, drones etc shouldn't be compared to what you're getting raw from a mirrorless cam. It's definitely going to take more work in post and more effort during shooting to get there. FYI Z9 recently got a 4.0 FW update that adds a low (100) ISO mode to N-log. Early reports suggest noise is gone. This firmware should be coming very soon to Z8 and hopefully be a bit of a game changer when it comes to noise issues with N-log.

  5. I have never got on with any ‘action’ camera I have had and I’ve had 1x GoPro and 2x DJI Action. I have always fancied something like this though… https://www.back-bone.ca/product/h11pro/ I think we sometimes poo poo or overlook some of the smaller point and shoot and phone cameras dismissing them as not being ‘pro’ enough whether we are in fact pros or not. (Pro IMO is how you act and whether you earn an income from it regardless of the tools which are just that, tools). The main reason I think I have never got on with ‘action’ cameras is I don’t really use wider FOV’s but shoot mainly within 50-100mm but one of my favourite filming experiences to date was with the Sony RX100v. Except it overheated too much for my use…

You are the one confused that has no idea why a gopro or insta360 or DJI Osmo have a much more effective image stabilization than Sony (including Catalyst) Nikon, Canon, etc. Is called physic and the longer the lens the bigger the shake will be amplified, it will have more motion blur, much bigger delta between same pixel and more rolling shutter effect due to sensor size, and the result is not comparable. So please don’t call me confused when you have zero explanation why…. Btw I wrote software in the past for images alignment so I kind of know how eis algorithms works

  8. Speaking of what high-end images actually look like, here are some 8K scans of IMAX 5-perf from Oppenheimer. https://dam.gettyimages.com/universal/oppenheimer The files with filenames like GF-number seem to be 3K, but the other ones seem to be 8K TIFF files - 133Mb each! How do they look? Strong colours, often strong contrast, not sharp.... like cinema.

  9. Has anyone posted some footage from the Z8/9? I want to see what I can do with it in resolve now. Also probably don't bother competing with people charging $200

  10. well after a day of cutting z8 and mavic 3 footage, I'm wondering what the hell I'm doing. I stumbled on some phantom 4 pro stuff I shot a few year ago and honestly its less noisy, has better highlight rolloff, but most of all it was quicker: That's the thing I'm increasingly thinking. Maybe I can improve on what I was doing 3 years ago, but only a bit, if at all, and at what time cost? If I have to denoise every shot, and mask windows to try to squeak some highlights in from outside, for a marginal improvement in a sector where I'm competing with people charging $200 and shooting on an iphone. I've seen some of the HDR iphone footage and its pretty amazing.
