  1. Which is also why I think I am pretty safe being in the wedding industry for the next decade until I retire. It really would require something like a Nexus 6 to replicate what we do!

  2. Seriously? Well it seems so… No idea who this fella is but if I subscribed to this fella I would immediately unsubscribe because that kind of statement is beyond dumb.

  3. Without forums and old school youtubers, the video nerd world would be a dull place.

  4. It was brought up in another thread that S5II has an internal fan. I concede all other points I’ve said. If they can do it so can all other manufacturers. Agree that this is absurd.

  5. Panasonic (and Sony) both put fans into mirrorless cameras before external fans started to become more and more of a thing. You see, until recently, it seemed as though overheating was becoming a thing of the past. See: why I keep saying it feels like we're going backwards. People's purchasing decisions impact all of us. So yeah, I do care that people keep supporting this nonsense. You give these camera companies an inch and they'll take a mile. Only when you hold them accountable and force their hand do they start to improve. You need only look at Canon trying harder after the R5 debacle to see evidence of that. What we've seen from Sony is that their overheating issues have gotten worse despite showing that they are more than capable of doing what is necessary to prevent it, given they did it before. What we're also seeing is an army of influencers and paid shills doing everything they can to downplay it, to the point that now people not only accept overheating but applaud third party manufacturers for creating a solution for a problem that shouldn't fucking exist in the first place! Maybe you weren't around back then, but there was a time when everyone loathed the 30 minute record limit imposed on these cameras. EVERYONE celebrated when those limits were removed. It was one of the things EVERYONE could agree on, a rarity! Just a few years later and now people defend cameras that can't even record for 30 minutes before shutting down! "Who records that long anyway?!" It's ridiculous and disheartening.

  6. A little trick I use is my external SSD's (which I work off with my MacBook) sit on my glass desk when in use and as a result, don't get too hot.

  7. The images look great. My point was that you need to be careful when using images like this to decide if you should buy the camera. There are many cameras out there that can provide a lovely image, and some of those cameras are easy to use and will reliably create lovely images for most users with moderate skill levels, but there are other cameras that require extreme skill or luck to create lovely images and for most users with moderate skill levels they will be frustrating and disappointing. Those sunset images looked a little too polished and I suspect they're the result of someone that either got lucky with a LUT that happened to do great, or they have a LOT of skill in colour grading.

  8. Interesting how some shots look very similar and others looked completely different. Colour grading dominates the test once again. Still, the early images were very nice and gave a very low-fi but high-quality feel. Very nice!

    Cooling fans for camera

That there's no incentive for companies to treat their customers better when people think having to buy an external fan is a reasonable thing to do for a brand new camera. I'm not trying to be hard on you, it's just incredibly frustrating.

  10. such as the FS7. But would love to see more Cinealta F3 beauty posted here. We had some great stuff been posted here before. Maybe a F3 challenge would be kewl. I would contribute. It does not have to be a contest, just for being a challenge and motivation to put that Baby Alexa to use. Anyone?:) Love the rendering of this beauty.

  11. I have 2 GH2s. I usually only use them for live streaming, but the other day, I decided to swap it out with the GH6. I "only" do 1080p streaming and the image was about 10% more detailed than the GH2, but by the time it actually reaches the other person, I doubt anyone would notice. I also love the ergos on the GH2. I've come accustomed to operating it backwards. I will say it does weird things when you hit the display button in the HDMI. The internal mics are decent, but I think it's mainly because of no IBIS. The GX85, by comparison, is unusable. This is actually why I use the G100 for a lot of stuff because there isn't any weirdness in the audio. This cannot be entirely the case though. My GX850 has some of the worst audio I've ever heard, even with C-AF off. Manufacturers fine-tune their mics to NOT pick up some sounds (IBIS, AF motors, etc.). My feeling is that the GX85 and GX850 didn't have the R&D budget for that.

  12. Nikon should pay this guy! That video will sell cameras.

  13. Nikon really dropped the ball when they released this camera with N-Log, which is not capable of maximizing the sensor's DR. They need to release "N-Log 2" in firmware if they can, since all the non-RAW formats in the camera still suffer from N-Log's limitations. The tests linked above demonstrate the significant difference between N-RAW processed in N-Log gamma and N-RAW when using ARRI Log C in Resolve:
