  1. Bit of an update.. Fujifilm have another stand with an equally perspex cased unit that doesn’t lend itself to being photographed but this one has the new lens attached.

  2. Live from the exhibition floor… Well, it’s here but as expected it’s in a Perspex case making touching it impossible and the reflections and dim environment not exactly easy to get a decent picture of it especially on my ageing iPhone. What I can confirm though which Is what everyone wants to know is that it does have internal ND.

  4. The X-H2s is a beast. Going to finally build mine up this X-Mas into a mini Cine camera with a Cineback and some other goodies. X-H2s is $1,400 US now on the used market and it’s a lot of camera for that price.

  5. There's the scan and then there's the film as has been noted above. I remember in the early thousands being told by an emeritus prof in astronomy that they were finding digital was sharper than film. These were low resolution dgital sensors but worked better in low photon capturing. Remember, digital doesn't suffer from failure of reciprocity. I was shocked at the time. My guess is today, above 100 iso, digital is better than s35 at 1080p for resolution on a sensor without an OLPF. However, digital colour is not as rich generally and much worse on a standard sony sensor. Dynamic range is better on film even if just because it has a proper toe and shoulder. There I said it.

  6. What a useless interview, guy said nothing other than its the same IQ as GFX100II. I noticed a Japanese spec sheet on a monitor towards the end of the video that specifies ProRes HQ, ProRes 422 & ProRes LT so there's that. Anyways yeah I don't see much purpose in this cam versus a GFX 100 II. I'm betting it will be +$10K too. Page me when they stick the XH2S sensor in an affordable cine body. Speaking of rigged GFX 100 II Fuji USA posted this yesterday:

  7. Looks expensive.. are Fuji not releasing specs yet?? Hopefully this paves the way for a more budget S35 cine cam with something like the XH2S sensor. Exciting to have a new player in the market, Fuji nonetheless !

  8. Rolling shutter and bit depth will be the big question for this. As far at the 17K, I’m sure it will be similar to the new 12k which CineD just tested and seems pretty impressive. https://www.cined.com/blackmagic-ursa-cine-12k-lf-lab-test-rolling-shutter-dynamic-range-and-exposure-latitude/

  10. Agree, seems a bit of an odd omission. Plenty of small cameras have very decent IBIS. I don’t think it’s reasonable to expect every single feature from a high end camera and have it packaged in a tiny body at 1/2 the price, but seems an odd thing to not have in this day and age. Some pretty disappointing camera launches this year, but then to be fair, most have been aimed at the lower end of the market. The Zf for me has been the stand out and toying with picking one up again as a personal camera if I can work out how to also use it for work, ie, justify it…
