If those are indeed direct from the card then S-LOG 3 looks unworkable on the A6300 and the codec is looking like it has the same problems the FS5 had, but worse. Not good.

Geez. It's so badly shot. If you're going to judge the camera, judge it from something decent for heaven's sake. I hardly think the rolling shutter will be any worse than the 1D C, A7S II, NX1, GH4 or many other 4K cameras, many of them much more expensive than $999

When Sony do a subsequent version of the Pentax 645Z sensor with proper 8K RAW video, the dynamic range on that will be astounding A lot of people still think of larger sensor = shallower DOF and with most medium format lenses being F2.8 this might not be the case vs F1.4 on full frame but once we overcome that kind of binary thinking, we see the image of medium format is unique and I definitely want to shoot a film on the format. FORBES70 is a thing of beauty. PS I missed the NAB 2009 announcement of that RED solution... quite amazing really, I'm surprised they haven't made good on it 7 years later seen as though they are chasing some of the high end stills market and not just cinema.

At the least rolling shutter won't be a problem for this kind of camera. Sony is making some big moves into the network / CCTV market. To be honest it is about time these cameras got a better image, plenty of unsolved crimes due to dark, pixilated faces. ME20F-SH is more for broadcast / TV market but yeah, the concept is similar to Canon's and price is cheaper, plus it is 4K.

Shame then that 90% of Canon's DSLRs can't shoot high resolution enough stills to make use of it... Only the 5DS. Haha.

Shame it would be completely wasted in 1080p on Canon DSLRs.

The motion issues you guys are talking about seem to have more to do with the shutter speed than the camera. The Mongolia video is lovely but a lot of it looks to be shot at a high shutter speed without NDs Try 1/50 and see if things improve. If not then we should investigate more what is going on. MJPEG and RAW on Canon DSLRs are ALL-I codecs, but it's unlikely to be a LONG GOP issue because the D750 is that and apparently looks fine.

I think Samsung will reassess too. Sony has shown the way with their sales figures for the full frame mirrorless cameras. APS-C is not where it's at. Samsung should return with a full frame mirrorless camera and that requires a completely different set of lenses.

Sony A6000 I reckon

X-Pro 2 4K - 80% said they don't need it, so Fuji didn't flick the switch in firmware. They ask a bunch of hardcore stills people if they want video and surprise surprise most of them don't. How are Fujifilm supposed to expand their customer base with new people if the keep asking their existing ones what they want? This is why camera companies keep serving up the same-old same-old every year... they never reach out new markets, because they only listen to the needs of their existing one.

Are you using the colour temperature matched S-Gamut colour modes on the FS5? That's probably the solution. The A7S II doesn't have these.

According to Japanese news outlet Nikkan the Panasonic GH5 will get a resolution bump to approximately 20MP, with 18MP stills pulled from the 6K video mode in 16:9 aspect ratio. 4K at higher frame rates such as 60p, likely with a crop of the sensor is rumoured to be possible. Read the full article

Some good tests there. Have to say both the image and AF look stunning... And very little hint of rolling shutter on the street pans.
