  1. Also, is somewhat ironic the abuse Ed has suffered for his opinions and beliefs, given the subject matter itself is abuse!! Stop it guys. Or we'll have to talk about cameras again...
  2. All credit to Noam for the URSA find http://noamkroll.com/blackmagic-ursa-mini-is-coming-15-stops-of-dynamic-range-4-6k-sensor-much-more/ Specs of the smaller cinema camera coming in just a moment.
  3. Clearly designed for drones. It's Super 16mm. Here's the URSA Mini 4.6K, Super 35mm... Photos from Noam.
  4. The new lightweight portable URSA Mini has a much smaller screen and looks a bit like a DVX100. New Blackmagic sensor is 4.6K, 15 stops. New Blackmagic Cinema Camera is also to be announced at NAB. Resolve 12 will be released shortly afterwards.
  5. Let's try and avoid pointing the finger at each other. The situation is as bad enough as it is without losing more friends because of differences of opinion on an internet forum.
  6. There is a new 4K Panasonic camera coming at NAB. Read the full article: http://www.eoshd.com/2015/04/there-is-a-new-4k-panasonic-camera-coming-at-nab/
  7. Nobody in the history of press releases ever has said something like "this time..." twice in the opening paragraph. Amateurish sham.
  8. We broadly control how much we put out onto the internet. That's our right. If someone takes that away from you and posts carte blanche a ton of the uttermost private info, I don't agree that.
  9. Trust me Ed you shouldn't be taking abuse condemnations from guys like Vincent Gafney and Salah Baker on twitter. Highly abusive themselves all the time on social media, often to me.
  10. EH?! GH4 has had it since release, for 1 year now. A7S has it. Both mirrorless cameras.
  11. I have some information on a new 4K CMOS sensor which may or may not be announced at NAB in a future Blackmagic camera. The new chip increases sensitivity by 67%. Read the full article
  12. It's Kinefinity raw so their own format in-camera and with a simultaneous (and actually rather lovely looking) CineForm proxy. Then you have a very speedy converter app to create the Cinema DNG on your PC or Mac. Then it is into Resolve to grade or edit. What I did was grade in there then ProRes for Premiere. But if you need a faster turnaround you can just edit straight off the card with the CineForm Proxy, then do one big render at the end off the raw.
  13.   Camera provided by Kinefinity and HDVideoShop. Final hardware but pre-release firmware with some modes such as "Golden 3K" for 16-stop dynamic range not yet enabled. The Kinefinity KineMAX is a serious piece of kit. It is possibly the best image I have ever shot with. The 6K Super 35mm sensor delivers an absolutely incredible raw image, internally recorded and also a CineForm Proxy for quick editing. Read the full article
  14. Because of a minority of users on this forum who want to continue to sling mud in various directions I am closing the thread now. Had to delete some nasty remarks. For those who kept it level-headed, thank you. Whatever the truth I hope for forgiveness and recovery for both sides.
  15. Nikon at NAB have come with a string of code, how generous. http://nikonrumors.com/2015/04/09/nikon-develops-new-firmware-for-the-d4s-d810-and-d750-dslr-cameras.aspx/ This one adds timecode to HDMI and start stop trigger so useful for external recorders.
  16. Second that gh2sound... we should all be careful that our opinions don't read like they are statements of fact. They are opinions based on (albeit it powerful) allegations. Everyone, let me know if you feel strongly about moving on from this topic and I will lock it. I find it quite dark, with a high potential for trouble. I am already very sad about what has happened and don't feel like discussing it much more in fact.
  17. It is true, no court of law has ruled on this at all and therefore we should be careful about being judge jury and executioner on the internet. I am sure the truth will eventually be decided by a real judge and not us. I hope one day we can forgive Philip but he's got to tell the truth and come clean first. I hope it isn't true. I feel really twisted up inside about how to react... on the one hand to not react at all, to say nothing is to perform a cover up and deny a voice to the victim's allegations... that's the easy way to deal with it as most companies will do I am sure, just sit on the fence and not say a word and continue to work with Philip. I am not like that. I feel like I need to know the truth and take a stance either way. I would like to encourage people on this thread to show restraint and respect for the alleged victims and not to slander anyone out of anger however understandable that anger may be. I am for one, furious. Then we can get back to more positive subjects, like cameras!
