Current best matches for you are the Sony A7S, Nikon D750 or 5D Mark III ML. Depending on your definition of easy workflow ML raw on the 5D3 might not work out for you. The D750 is really easy to work with. The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera does have a nice image but it's a very different look to full frame, you might not get on with it. Depends on the lenses you already own or what you plan to buy for it. The lens is half the look of the camera. Consider the GH4 as well because the 4K files make for great 1080p in post, the workflow is as simple as banging in 50% size reductions for the clips.

Fuzzy your posts are unhelpful.

Meanwhile I've seen the 1D X go for as little as $4k new. Something is definitely coming at NAB.

Is Adobe Premiere to blame for banding in 8bit DSLR footage?
Andrew Reid replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
FCPX is a bit too off topic for my liking After all the thread is about Premiere!! Expecting people to learn a whole new NLE because of a fixable problem with banding isn't going to wash so let's get back to the more constructive posts and there have been some great ones in this thread so far. Thanks guys. -
Secret negotiations between Samsung and blackhat group...
Andrew Reid replied to Brian Luce's topic in Cameras
This is total bollocks. Thread closed! -
I am experiencing a problem with Adobe Premiere which destroys the quality of Canon 1D C footage. It’s a problem which has always been attributed to the camera and others like it – banding with an 8bit codec. But actually, could the software you use to edit material play a role? It's a possibility yes.

SO LINK TO IT THEN!! -
Did the Facebook group guys say where they got it? I have a ton of material shot and articles prepared but don't want to piss off Samsung by advocating the download of dodgy leaked firmware on the blog. Was it officially online at Samsung but then pulled later? There's a trivial bit of difference between the profiles but it's tiny and disappears when I play with the master black level, which has a larger impact.

No source Brian? Or is the source you?! -
Digital Ed, thanks for the updates and the link to download the firmware. I am mighty curious as to where it came from. The v1.2 firmware you provide does indeed install and give me the new features on my NX1. However if it is a leak or a beta version you should tell us. I see no difference between Gamma C and Gamma DR, which can't be right. Surely.

I agree with Richard's letter and don't agree that Motion Six should be private correspondence against someone's wishes, it's borderline illegal. Also I don't agree with Pete Winkle whoever the fuck he is... for bringing it to our attention here, on a forum known to support Rich's work at Dog Schidt Optiks and as a mod. Thread closed.

Peter Buck is always a good idea The video is 90% GH4 in 4K downscaled to 1080p in post and graded with Film Convert. Yeah stabilisation is the Gorilla pod. You have to be über discrete in East Berlin otherwise people get upset So no big cinema cameras for me!!!

I'm not going to dump Adobe Premiere as my editor just because it can't directly edit the MJPEG files nicely. They have to be transcoded anyway and because Resolve has the most advanced options for this and uses GPU acceleration to get the job done faster, I'm using it to convert the MJPEG to ProRes, without any banding introduced in the process! No FCPX for me I'm afraid. And this isn't a thread about the merits of various NLEs either!!

Two of the most exciting lenses for GH4 and BMPCC users at Photokina were the SLR Magic 10mm T2.1 and the Voigtlander 10mm F0.95. The SLR Magic wide angle is now available and gives you back your 24mm wide-end in 2.3x 4K mode. You could view it as an upgrade to the well regarded 12mm T1.6. Compared to the Voigtlander it has the advantage of less chromatic aberration, a stepless aperture and focus gearing designed for video use. Other than that it's hard to do a detailed comparison because the F0.95 isn't out yet! I put the lens through its paces in Berlin and here are the results. Read the full review

Why use FCPX when we have Resolve 11 Lite for free? makes no sense for me!!
-
Did that and it has the banding. Premiere is introducing it on export even at the highest quality setting.

Well they have a H.265 hardware chip in the PS4. Seems strange to go to the expense of putting one in the A7S only to not use it and claim it overheats. So I don't believe it but never say never.

Thanks for the update Oliver. Can you turn digital sharpening off completely in-camera. Same picture profile settings like the FS700 but with S-LOG 3 or did they update them? How's rolling shutter and the 1080p slow-mo?
-
Some intensive tasks need to be done at the hardware level for speed reasons though. You can do anything in software that's true... but it's always slower. That's why the NX1 for example has a hardware H.265 decoder and dedicated hardware for stuff like AF object tracking. 10bit encoding is very intensive for a general purpose CPU in software. Especially a mobile ARM chip. Great approach from Nikon though, let's see how far they are willing to push it!

So far nothing to suggest it is the gamma issue. Black levels and brightness all normal, no clipping. The banding is a different thing. Will try on Windows version of Premiere CC and see how it goes.

Click to enlarge... The left is Quicktime Player and the right is Premiere, same clip. That shadow has gone to hell!
